Ive seen some comments about the Triton Pick up …….

About being ugly ….

Well just look at the photos and see if you agree , I personally think the Triton

Is a beautiful looking design, not like the square looking dinosaur boxes you keep seeing

from other manufactures. So come on some one must agree with me …?

It does not look too much as an agricultural vehicle. The look is new and unusual, but so was Mazda 121 about 17-18 years ago.

I rented the older model of Triton once and it was terrible.

Could be now, the company has put an extra effort to make something good (although unusual design) after the spate of recalls and technical problems.

I have seen that Isuzu is coming up with similar "armadillo" shape for their pick up trucks.

No. I don't need a car any more, just dicking around with those who still talk my older hobby.

google it.

This is all I could find for Isuzu 2007 - that surely can't be it!

That looks like the Chevy Colorado to me.....

the New Mitzi not only looks ugly, it doesn't proform, heavy on fuel and I would back my new Ford Ranger against it for Value and Power..

Au contraire... the Mitzu Triton has been lauded for it's fuel efficiency and aerodynamic shape, and has just won Thailand's Car of the Year award for 2006.

looks wise , the triton fails aft of the cabin , its got a skinny little atrophied arse. the side windows are too deep and add to the weak look.

the rear also looks too weak compared to the aggressive front design.

the cosmetic improvements offered by the add ons in the photographs go some way to strengthening the rear end , but are a bit o.t.t.

mechanically i'm sure it is up to scratch.

My opinion is it is ugly . 2.6litre so underpowered .

Toyota is a good reliable vehicle with enough power to get yourself past those trucks before they decide to change into your lane . Parts are easy to come by and mechanics and dealerships are bountiful .

From memory it was a little cheaper than the Toyota , but I still chose the vigo over it .

At least the Triton looks different. They had the guts to push forward a new style. I think the styling is ok but that comes down to personal taste. Would never buy a pickup on style, at the end of the day none of them drive like a car or have the character that a good car design has. Have seen a few pics of some American pickups that look quite cool though. A friend just bought a Triton four door 4x4. Seems pretty good for what it is but the interior materials are terrible, very shody!

I looked at the Mazda (same thing) and came away thinking that was easily the nicest to drive and the best interior quality but a bit cramped in the back of the four door model but then its only the wife, baby and I so no problems.

Isuzu and Chevy just did not drive well at all.

The Triton has grown on me - it's not as boxy as the others and has some nice lines.

The Triton grew on me too. Like a wart! Looking at it from a rear angle it looks as if it's been overloaded in the cargo area and bent the chassis. Can't be selling that well; I see 10 Vigos for every Triton.

That's the weird thing for me - the more I see the Vigo the uglier I think it looks - the rear looks pretty boxy. I like the new look of the back of the Vigo :o

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks!

Well I’m on a limited budget and been looking for a 2 door Mega cab Automatic gearbox pick up, nothing too fancy for some time now and the best value for money I can find is the Triton 2.5 GXL Turbo diesel , with the following free accessories

Sport Wheel arches

Door Visor’s

Hood Deflector

Bed Liner

CD / MP3 Player

Door Side Step

Chrome Rear Bumper

Front Head lamps protectors

Rear Light Protectors

Front Fog Lights

Electric Windows

Remote door Locking

Sill scratch plates

Insurance (First Class)

License Plate

Registration Book

Rubber floor mats

Under body rust protection

Paint protection

I know the Triton seem’s to be generally disliked, but the price is in my budget range,

The retail price is … 578,000 Baht

if some one knows of another manufacture with a 2 door Mega cab Automatic gearbox pick up in this same price range please let me know,

I was in the same position about 2 months ago and did the rounds of all the dealers, isuzi, toyota, chevorlet, mitsubishi, mazda, ford, nissan. Fist I discounted toyota as I had a toyota and the service and warrenty backup was appalling (they couldnt get me home or provide a curtesy car )

Nissan said they were waitng for new model but didnt know when or what it was called, ford also said they were waiting for new model as did isuzi. I felt the mazda, chevy and toyota looked the same with no character. In the end I settled for the Triton 4 x 4 with a 3.2ltr turbo engine and it goes like the clappers if needed. I find it very comfortable and the short back end suits me as I dont need a large load area. Cars are like women (or houses) one mans beauty is another mans nightmare and really its down to personal taste. One of the deciding factors was a tv member who

posted pictures of his triton after being hit by a bus, rear end wrecked front end wrecked, passenger cab untouched, he replaced that truck with another triton so at least he knows he has good protection which here in LOS must be a plus.

When I am riding along in my pick up, the last thing on my mind would be Oh no my pick up’s being looked at, and every one thinks its ugly.. ….Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and at ….. 578,000 Baht you can’t say its not good value, ugly or not and it’s made by Mitsubishi. But if the ugly side curve bother’s you why not go for the straight sided version..?
