True Cable T.V. Disappointments

If you think True Visions is bad, spare a thought for those using WETV (Worst Ever TV) although they claim it stands for

"World Entertainment" which isn't happening at the moment of course.

They have after many complaints allowed some Foreign News Channels back on BUT No Movies or anything else in English.

Oddly enough, despite the ban on Movies, Channel 5 had a Movie on the night before last, in Thai of course.

Ask WE TV about a discount during the "down period" and it is almost like admitting to High Treason !

The 5K Baht Box is sounding a very attractive proposition !

Surprise, surprise!

My True satellite programming is back to normal today after two weeks of selective downtime!

(Soccer seemed to be sacrosanct. I counted 9 channels showing it last week!)

I was going to write my thoughts about the company here this morning, and have expressed them elsewhere on the forum a few days back.  They particularly pissed me off the other day by switching from my program, the Cycling World Championship road race in Doha,  just as they were heading into the last 20-30kms.

They have probably still lost my custom as I am now looking at cheaper options.

True's policy of only showing old movies are another reason to depart.

There have been reports of people being offered refunds for the disruption during the mourning period.

They agreed on 25th Oct. to refund me in next month's bill after I complained that BBC entertainment was not restored at the same time as the other channels. Today I got BBC Entertainment back (27th Oct.)

Agree with you about not being able to watch during the mourning period. Have just had it three weeks, not cable but with dish about 1,560 a month, I think it is the premium package and the gold is about 2,000 per month. A lot of money in Thailand for T.V. Sourcing more movies on my laptop. We called Bangkok to tell them we were disappointed, they said there was nothing they could do.

There are a few things like CNBC, NFL, baseball and some of the documentaries that I would miss if I cancelled my subscription, but it's becoming rather expensive just to watch those few things and even more expensive if I can't even see some of them.

You can watch them free at ustvnow.com

Any tech types see a red flag here, or something to be concerned about?

Yes, if other people's questionable Internet usage is going through your IP address; what's the worst that could happen?

Probably(?) nothing but possibly????

However, I'm paying extra for movie  stations and asked they do the honorable thing and credit me for the movie stations only.  They never agreed to do that.

Yes, I have True satellite. Totally understand the period of mourning and the decision to limit "entertainment" programs, but I just renewed for six months and a lot of the programs I'm paying for are not available or are interrupted. I do expect them to observe the mourning regulations, but they ought to extend my subscription or  give me a refund since I am paying for something I'm not getting.

Good customer service. I wonder if those of us who do not complain, will be automatically refunded?

As I don't watch anything BBC and haven't for a period of ten years now. I couldn't be happier that it's gone off. I got a months subscription refunded to my account some two weeks ago now as reported on another thread. Not on there cable but satalite. Ps you don't need 10 mbs to stream on Android boxes 2 or above work fine as long as ping is 20ms or less.

If you are lazy like me get ilikehdtv and you have everything at your fingertips. You can watch it on your tv or mobiles. I even watched it in Sjngapore last week. The best is that you only pay for the service and you only pay when you want to watch it. So if you out of the country for a while you have no costs. Also no expensive boxes thats linked to this service. At B 450 per month its great value and even if you add extra sport you end up with B 900 per month which beats True. Only thing is you must have internet.

Hi ,  I have been away for a few weeks and on my return to Issan  I tuned in to  ILIKEHDTV  . Well the quality is good when its working but the buffering and complete loss of programme are frustrating . Emailed them and they quickly replied saying they would put me on another server but it has made no difference . Some days good , other days unwatchable . I did mention to them that TOT had some issues with their internet fibre optic and that I may change to Truevision to which they replied , TOT is a more stable signal but if you can get AIS they are the best . Having said that the TOT signal although not stable rarely falls below 20mbps with a ping of 12s  .

My main reason for writing is are there others out there who are currently suffering with poor reception from  ILIKEHDTV  ?

For those who are lamenting that TV5 ( #788) is completely off the air (I am with them), I call TrueVisions just now and a very polite lady told me that TrueVisions is receiving a lot of complaints about this, and that they are negotiating with the government to have TV5 back on normal programming but the government is still refusing. When I suggested about some kind of financial compensation, she said that TrueVisions is studying this possibility. Up to us to believe what she said.

I am going to cancel my Truevisions at the end of December but what to replace it with? I have an Android box and via Mobdro i can get loads of channels but the quality is poor and  you never know what's coming on. Also the tgf has got to have a reliable source of thai soaps/Fox and thai news. Most of my films i download so not too bothered about that. News i can get via Sky news on the internet. I have 3bb internet 10mbs (supposedly) but that is not really quick enough to have reliable streaming. Ideally i would like a tv/internet combination that provides a basic TV service (for the tgf) and a fast internet for me. But which one? True is no good as they won't provide a service to condos. Anyone have a successful service from TOT? i am not too keen to move to them as their customer service is dire.

I can recommend kodi all free on your Android box. As for the mrs throw up a arieal outside  or buy a set top box and utilise the true sat dish they won't take. I'm on 3bb 10 mbs great for streaming kodi and pulse.tv which is my preferred supplier on android

I have true and hardly watch it now, Will not watch color movies in back and white. I mostly watch ustvnow for about 30 dollars a month I get over 20 HD tv channels. Most of the movies an AMC (US version) FX and others  are the same ones Asia HBO, Fox movies and Cinemax are showing. Plus not censored.  ustvnow has a DVR unlimited function that I use heavily because of the time difference. Last weekend I recorded six college football games.

It may not be ilikehdtv but rather your internet speed. Run a speed test and if its low complain to TOT.

Based on your user name you could try KTV (Khon Kaen Cable) they do (or used to at least) carry the Universal Channel.

Rather than complaining to True, you should, I feel, be complaining to the BBC about their unacceptably provocative and combative style of reporting on Thai matters at the present time. Last week, for instance, I had to endure the unedifying spectacle of the obnoxious and creepy Lucy Hocking cross-examining Jonathan Head live in Bangkok from the relative sanctuary of Broadcasting House in a totally insensitive manner with which even a seasoned pro like Head look decidedly uncomfortable, before, thankfully, True pulled the plug to spare us any further embarrassing agony. And on another occasion the plug was pulled while this gormless tw@t of a female reporter was attempting to quiz 2 Thai women live on the riverside in Bangkok in a manner which could have resulted in them being banged up for a very long time!

perhaps  it  would be better to question the country of  thailand  rather than free  people of other countries............

I'm fed up with True and waiting for our subscription to finish next month and cancel . The advertising has got really bad and complained, the movies and documentaries that have been censored are rerun time after time to the point i don't even bother checking what's on and only have been watching AMC and TCM.

I'm also going to try something new and download movies instead

Yeah, never mind upsetting local sensitivities, eh?

And do you really seriously believe that the people of the UK are free in their country? If you do, this might make you think again!

I see in one of the English language newspapers today that TV and radio stations are allowed to resume normal programming on Nov 19, but with restrictions on programs with content that could cause division in society.   I doubt any of the international stations/programs are broadcasting any programs that cause division in Thai society....it would just be some of the Thai programming.  Appears after the 30 day morning period the programming will be back to bascially normal.  I'm on TrueVisions cable and  I noticed late last night around 11pm some of the farang stations/programs were being broadcast again, whereas at 10pm they were not as I scanned the channels at 10pm and then noticed at 11pm they were showing. Seems over the last week more and more farang programs are coming back. Programming will get back to normal before long.

Back in mid 2011 when I switched from TrueVisions Satellite (i.e, uses a dish) to TrueVisions Cable at the same house, they picked up the satellite box but left the dish on the wall....it's still there.   And then I got new settop boxes from TrueVisions as cable uses different boxes than satellite.

Years ago we got rid of Platinum and since then have Gold , goodness knows why ,all i ever watch is the pickers ,porn stars and storage wars , everything else i can download ,even these if i want , the wife has not interest in Thai tv , in fact has little interest in tv  full stop , we get the magazine every month , today it went in the bin without opening it again , this thread has just convinced me to cancel , its a waste of money .

I agree that ilikehd quality is variable. I have EPL matches via True/Bein for a reasonable price but liked the PLTV 24/7 output that used to be CTH Stadium 6 but now is only available in the region (as far as I know) via ilikehd's Mio102 channel from Singapore. Or was. After switching suppliers a few times without success they appear to have given up on that and other Mio channels, but were good enough to transfer my credit for the Premium Sports package to my UK tv package.

You can change the server (ISP) to try and get a more reliable connection. They recommended the Europe ISP for UK channels (logical) and Asia for Singapore (logical), but reliability is still variable. Someone else has questioned your internet speed but i doubt that is the problem. They recommend a minimum of 3 and I have 15 (verified) but still get buffering.

If anyone knows of anywhere showing PL TV and the weekday evening Football Today show I'd love to hear about it. 365 don't, and myblackbox (advertised on here a few months ago) couldn't even be bothered to reply.

I stopped watching H2 on True because of the stupid Larry the Cable Guy commercials every 10 minutes. What a pathetic example of the human race he is. Then I must keep my hand on the remote just in case that Caltex guy shows his mug every 10 minutes, or the Colgate guy that can't eat ice cream.
