Thousands turn out to pay homage before Royal Urn

Mourners from all over the country form long lines at Sanam Luang while waiting for their turns to get inside the Grand Palace for paying respects before His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Royal Urn./Nation/Tatchadon Panyaphanitkul

 

BANGKOK:-- From near and far, loyal subjects brave weather and the long wait to pay respects to HM the King in the throne hall

 

ALL ROADS led to the Grand Palace yesterday as the Royal Household Bureau opened the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall to the public to pay respects before the royal urn for the first time since the King passed away on October 13.


The black-clad mourners filled Sanam Luang, the 12-hectare open field in front of the palace. In lines of black, they queued up, rain or shine, since the very early hours to get inside the hall and pay their final respects to the beloved His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

That would probably be correct, they are there to show their respect and honor to HM the King.

Many people have been going down and giving food and water for free. Very nice to see this.

Thai's always help each other.

I don't know.

We will go next month or so, there are 80k people daily while 10k are allowed in. Also it rains every day now...better go during winter.

 

I wonder if those people stand in line for many days, i would bring a foulding chair if i were them.
