Medium, relaxed pace group bike rides in CM and Northern Thailand?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for ideas for medium / relaxed pace group bike rides in CM and Northern Thailand. I'm an experienced rider would enjoy group rides in and out of town. For the latter, interested in multi-day rides anywhere in the north or maybe into Laos, Myanmar.

I've been checking a few Thai cycling sites and get the feeling that most rides do a pretty decent hustle and 100K's are common. I'm in my 60's and fit but a bit slower than the average rider...typical for me is 20-25 km/h in the flats, and I'm not that fast up the hills. I don't want to hold up the group, but would like to get out there. I know Thailand pretty well, enjoy the back roads, speak decent Thai. Happy to ride with Thai/farang/mixed.

If you have any suggestions for groups, regular rides, anything, please let me know. Either post here or PM me. Thanks.

Give Chiang Mai Sunday Cycling Club a google. They ride for enjoyment to nice spots  outside of the city.
