Renewal of the O-A Visa

Can anyone kindly advise?

I have received my O-A visa (multi-entry) at Thai embassy stating that ENTER BEFORE 19 Jan 2017.

Thai Immigration officer granted me to stay until 11 Jun 2017 when I entered Bangkok on 12 Jun 16.

I would like to renew my O-A visa.

1) Should I renew based on 19 Jan 2017 or 11 Jun 2017?

2) How long is requirement for the deposit of THB 800,000 in a Thai Bank Account prior to the visa application if there is such a requirement?

3) How long ago do I have to transfer for the bank transfer in stead of Thai Bank deposit?

You are aware a simple exit/return prior to end end of 19 Jan 2017 will get you a new one year permitted to stay stamp?  There is no need to extend at immigration until about 2018 if you do that.

Its the 11 June 2017 Date. you are extending your stay not renewing a visa. 800,000 should be in the bank 3 months prior to that date.

 

The visa allows you to come and go, anytime up until 18 jan 2017. Each time you enter (before visa runs out) you will be given a 12 month stay. The Stay is what you extend. Then you need re entry permit to come and go..

 

As Lopburi says, if your last entry using the visa was 18 jan 2017, you would be given a 1 year stay until jan 2018

Before 19 Jan means before the end of that day AFAIK.  Bad word choice in English I believe.

Thats why i said 18th, you wouldn't want to be denied on a technicality.

With a ME OA Visa you get another year each time you leave and re-enter before the Enter Before date.

So leave and re-enter the day before (18 Jan) and you'll get stamped in until Jan 2018.

For the last year you'll need a Re-entry Permit from your local Immi office (single or multiple) if you want to go out and retain your Jan 2018 Permission to Stay stamp.

No need for proving finances or any other crap - this will come in Jan 2018 when you apply at your local Immi office for a further one year Extension of Permission stay.

Until then continue to report your Address every 90 days (which restarts every time you enter the Kingdom).

You will have to get a re-entry permit after you get the extension of stay that will be valid until the extension ends.

No.

 

You pay B2,000 for the extension of stay by submitting a Form TM.7.

 

Then, if you want a re-entry permit, it's B1,000 for a single-entry or B3,800 for a multiple-entry re-entry permit by submitting a Form TM.8.

 

Two discrete steps.

Thanks.  Maybe that's it.  These days my neurons seem to make some random connections, but you'd think with ten extensions under my belt, I'd keep it straight.

But with those extensions the years go bye and our minds become younger (to the point of infancy) as our bodies age to centennials.  Well along that route.
