Advertising on Thai Visa Forum

I came across 2 ads while looking at TVF. Number 1 was for

Advertise free on Thaivisa Classifieds) and when I clicked on the link it came up as COMING SOON, why advertise something when it is not available, isn't that false advertising or is it a gimmick to get you salivating at the mouth just waiting for it to come.   Number 2 is the ad for ( Get your "Shocking" 2015  Horoscope", I may be a dumb Farang but I thought horoscopes were for things that were going to happen in the future and if it is so shocking why would you even ask for one, I asked a smart Thai person and they confirmed that it is actually 2016.  I did loose 1 day last week, I think it was Thursday and I missed out on the local markets, maybe it is still 2015 and it is a big conspiracy and I am still only 59.
  1. About the first ad, or link, you mentioned, sadly the classifieds subforum was not compatible with the upgraded version of the Thaivisa forum and it is taking some time to get the new version finalised. I understand that it is in the early testing phase at the moment. That it is still being advertised during this temporary downtime period does appear somewhat comical and I can understand your amusement. Brace yourself for an exciting new and much more user-friendly version COMING SOON.

  2. Your mention of the ad for a 2015 horoscope reminds me of the movie "Back to the future". You have probably already figured out that it was not Thaivisa itself that inserted this ad but that it is being displayed by an ad server. Just the same it is indeed amusing, like the posters I see now and then advertising an event that has already taken place. Here we have somebody who pays an ad server good money for an ad that makes him or her look rather silly.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
