CONCERN about car bombs in Bangkok

By The Nation

The detention of Patani Malay youth amid fears of an attack in the capital reflect a knee-jerk response

Mainstream media has had reports for some weeks now the possibility of car bombs in Bangkok but the latest stories singling out Sathon district as a likely target have jolted a lot of people.

Authorities confirmed the make of the two vehicles that they said were stolen from the conflict-ridden deep South over a year ago. At least one car – a black Honda Accord – was seen entering Bangkok about a month ago, prompting security officials here to go on high alert about a possible car bombing, reportedly slated for between October 25-30.

Since last weeks they do inspect every vehicle entering the mall while some days they can't be bothered to. I don't understand it.

And they still don't have dogs who can smell bombs? That mirror ain't gonna do it.

An EOD crew set up a check point and were stopping and searching some vehicles a few weeks ago for about a week at Chiang Mai airport. Something not usually seen. As of last weekend said crew and check point were gone.

One of many no doubt. Mass hysteria is be creating which is the desired effect more so than a big boom.

Whats  to worry about if you are close to one and it goes bang

You are on your way to either reincarnation, if you believe in it or a quick trip to where ever

If not dead buy a lottery ticket

If that concerned and just stay home, remember buildings collapse sometimes    :shock1:  :hit-the-fan:

There is nothing to worry abou

Sigh!! I left Belfast to get away from no-warning car bombs!

Self inflicted government security stunt...

Yes buildings can collapse but the military masterminds have create a hotline for "Building About to Collapse" which might save a few lives if anyone knows what the number is and if they can be bothered to call.

Do their ID cards identify them as such?

By profiling on "Patani Malays" or just simply "Muslim youths away from their homes in the Deep South," the government is reinforcing the division between the Kingdom and the South. This wouldn't be very condusive for peace talks but then the military has made talks irrelevant.
