BANGKOK: -- A well known Thai actor who was caught on video beating up a motorcyclist who scratched his Mini Cooper has turned himself into police.

The TV star even forced the biker to prostrate himself in forgiveness to his vehicle after he broke his nose with repeated blows to the face, reports Thairath.

Akhranat  Ariyaritwikul, 28, otherwise known as Not went to Yannawa police last night but refused to comment to reporters.

He was caught on tape assaulting Kitisak Singto, 25, who has the nickname Boy. He is a clerk at the Taling Chan revenue department.

The incident happened outside Robinson's in Bang Rak and has prompted a wave of outrage on social media.

Boy's mother Suthira Hongthong, 53, and his elder sister earlier went to police to ask them to act in the case. She said she didn't want to make a big issue of it at first because she was worried it might affect her son's future.

But when she saw the sickening clip and doctors revealed the serious nature of her son's injuries she decided to press on with the case.

Boy had a broken nose, and damage to both eyes and extensive bruising.

He was seen being repeatedly punched in the face then was made to "graap" or prostrate himself in a Thai gesture of forgiveness to the celeb's vehicle. It was all caught on tape.

The actor turned up with his father at 8pm but made no comment.

A lawyer for Acharanat Ariyaritwikol, 28, said his client struck Kittisak “Boy” Singto repeatedly on Friday out of self-defense. Yes. Definitely self defense. The motorcyclist was exceedingly aggressive.

A lawyer saidwell, he would, wouldn't he. The motorcyclist seemed to offer no resistance and was grabbed and assaulted by the punk little Mini - Cooper owner, now fortunately unemployed, owing to GMM nt wishing any bad publicity..

. Thanks to social media, these r-soles will have to be more careful they don't bite off more than they can chew.

The Zomby showed us all what it is to spit the dummy in public.

Great news he's been fired!

He's never gonna see jail time because this is Thailand, but let's hope this hurts him the pocket big time.

Now in this age of camera phones and social media you don't get to be a fake respected for being a good guy when really you're a total scumbag.

418_GMM.jpg

GMM TV announced today that it has terminated a contract with its television host and actor, Akaranat Ariyaritwikul, 28, otherwise known as Not, after a video clip showing the popular host beating a motorcyclist who hit his Mini Cooper car and forced him to prostrate himself in forgiveness to his vehicle.

The company said in its statement that it “regrets the incident and sees the damage from his status, as an actor and TV host should be a role model to the youth.”

Not was caught on tape assaulting Kitisak Singto, 25, who has the nickname Boy. He is a clerk at the Taling Chan revenue office.

The incident happened outside Robinson’s in Bang Rak on Saturday and has prompted a wave of outrage on social media.

At first both parties have reached understanding no to pursue legal procedure over the incident.

But after Boy’s mother Suthira Hongthong, 53, saw the clip, they said the act was unacceptable.

They then went to Yannawa police station to lodge complaint and to press on with the case.

Boy received broken nose, and damage to both eyes and extensive bruises.

Been here 15 or 16 years so have some experience to back up my comment that the behavior of the a$$hole driving the mini is not some strange anomaly when it comes to Thai men - especially those with a little money.  So many are so quick to snap, in my opinion much more so than the average Western male. Yes, I'm making sweeping generalizations here and there are nice Thai guys and plenty of crazy Americans/Europeans, but so many Thai men will snap at the slightest insult and will then only fight when there are huge numbers on their side / they know the other side is not in a position to fight back as in this case where it's obviously hi-so vs lo-so. The words 'entitled' and 'coward' come to mind.
