Chiang Mai to be turned into Startup District

BANGKOK, 8 November 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Industry is urgently creating startups and developing Chiang Mai province into a startup district.

Minister of Industry Atchaka Sibunruang on Monday presided over the opening ceremony of a seminar on startups at the Impress International Convention Center in Chiang Mai. The minister said at the event that the ministry had a goal to create more than 4,000 startups in Thailand by the year 2017.

Presently, the northern region, especially Chiang Mai, is the region that has high potential to be a startup district with a tendency to grow fast.

The seminar is part of the government's efforts to develop the Thai industry in the Thailand 4.0 era. The seminar will be organized in 12 areas at central and regional levels.

Six weeks to go and 4,000 startups to fire up?

Must be noodle soup stands.

What is this Thailand 4.0 Era?

And what were the 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 Eras that have flown well under my radar?

you guys forgot AEC 2015.... which is still in progress by the way. also the Digital Economy..... and one that didn't quite 'take off'.... the new Aviation Hub of ASEAN.

Startups - obviously a great opportunity for Chinese entrepreneurs using proxy/nominee companies. Welcome to ChiangMai - we have tried everything else.
