September 11, 20196 yr Do the banks, cc companies etc, pursue debt as vigorously as in the UK, for example? Not really sure, the neighbours opposite had the bank officials hounding them for quite a while, one time the guy came home on his motorcycle, parked up and 2 minutes later the bank people came. Rang his bell, shouted him various times for about an hour, not a sign !! they left and 2 minutes later the guy appeared and drove off !!Heavy sleeper ?, I don’t think so [emoji51]
September 14, 20196 yr Author Popular Post I thought I'd share that my Abandonia Thailand photo book won 2nd place in the documentary books category (amateur) of the Lucie Foundation's International Photo Awards. If anyone's interested you flip through the full book via this link, it covers 6 of the 34 abandoned places I've documented in Thailand. Thanks for the support, this has been a great thread for sharing interesting sites & stories.

This junkyard is unusual in that it is used by the police as an evidence holding yard for vehicles that have been in major accidents (often resulting in fatalities). The remnants of accident vehicles are taken there by the police once they are no longer needed as case evidence. If they are not claimed by family or former owners, they end up here. There are cars, buses, lots of motorbikes, and larger trucks that have all been in serious crashes. Certainly a morbid place but with fascinating details. do you have the location?

October 21, 20196 yr Awesome topic i just took 2 hours time see and read everything. Reminds me of my childhood, that feeling and adreanaline when entering a abandoned building, or factory. I have seen the Batman once in 2014, and recognized some other stuff like those dirty shacks in the Uttaradit province. And i have seen most of those buildings near Pattaya.

I'll be in Chanthaburi next weekend & would like to check it out. Thanks for any updates!
November 30, 20196 yr Author Popular Post This unfinished & abandoned hotel was built on national park land. Locals raised a fuss due to the fact that it is illegal to develop commercial properties on national park land, and the project was abandoned. This is a rare case of the rule of law actually being applied in the case of a 'hiso' developer. The only residents of the hotel are thousands of giant bats which occupy the darkest area of the ground floor and the occasional room. My full series from this place is here & my drone and interior video footage is here.

December 21, 20196 yr Popular Post I've got no idea of the story behind this place. It's on the road to Ao Yang in Laem Sing district, Chantaburi and is one of a number of buildings behind a wall with a sign saying "Hat Phu Fah Private Beach Resort and Club". I've driven past it numerous times and the last time decided to go down a soi off to the side to take a better look, but the soi disappears into jungle shortly past this spot. Looks like it was a nice place. Anyone have any more info? This is the same place on Google Street View, which was taken in 2013 and shows it was already abandoned back then. The building in front could be the staff quarters. It's interesting to see how much the plants have taken over in 6 years:
