Anybody know the botanical name of this magnificent tree? It provides masses of shade and is quite beautiful.

At least 20 or more have been cut down in our moo baan already this year. It flowers around songkran every year.

Never mind, just Googled it.  Albizia saman or  Rain tree. A native of Central America ( like so many plants)

Albizia saman, although still known widely by its older botanical name Samanea saman.
