BANGKOK: -- The Department of Drainage and Sewerage under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) today announced temporary suspension of shuttle boat service in Klong Saensap and Klong Phadung Krungkasem from noon today to allow the people to celebrate the Loy Krathong festival tonight.

It said the shuttle service from Pratunam pier to Phan Fa pier will stop from noon, while the service from Pratunam to Wat Sri Boonruang from 6.00 pm.

The boat service will be back to normal time tomorrow morning.

Boat service in Klong Phadung from Hua Lampong to Thieves pier will also stop today from noon.

Moreover the BMA is opening water gates to drain in water from Chao Phraya river to flow into city canals in order to increase water levels in the canals to facilitate Loy Krathong celebrants to float their “Krathongs” into the water.
