BANGKOK, 21 November 2016 2016 (NNT) - The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that the world will enter the age in which people will die of bacterial infections if the problem of antimicrobial resistance is not addressed.

Only 3 percent of people support death penalty for buying and selling of official positions

Phichit governor warns rice traders not to cheat farmers or face criminal charge

Public asked not to throw leftover food or water into tamarind trees at Sanam Luang

4 Huay Kwang cops moved following a raid of illegal casino by soldiers

Thai Con-Woman Sentenced to 150 Years for Royal Defemation

 

BANGKOK – Thailand’s Military Court has sentences a  Thai con-woman to 150 years in jail after defaming the royal family by promising favors from them to people in exchange for cash.

 

She was accused of swindling people, out of around US$145,000 (S$206,252.35) between 2010 and 2014.

 

Kamonthat Thanathornkhositjira, also known as Kim-eng Sae Tia, was sentenced to a total of 150 years on 33 counts defaming the royal family by promising favors from them to people in exchange for cash, however the term was reduced to 50 years because of her confession.

Thailand tiger farms: Hunting the traffickers

BANGKOK: -- When the Thai authorities moved in to shut down a tiger zoo in a temple at the end of May, they exposed a lot more than just the various irregularities in that one facility. The macabre sight of tiger foetuses preserved in bottles, and the shrivelled, frozen remains of other cubs, suddenly cast the popular tourist attraction into a more sinister light. Was this evidence of illegal trade in tiger parts?
