Dunno how divorce rates are in thailand, let alone the divorce courts and whatever comes along with it....if it's anything like the west, I for one wouldn't be surprised whatsoever, except for the fact that more thais would be on the red pill than farangs, but I don't quite buy into that considering what I know of thailand so far. Like I have always said, Sex is Sex and Love is Love. Separate the two and life is so much easier.  It doesn't matter what Country you come from the honest stats ( those where all tell the truth), are all very high when it comes to sex on the side. The only reason we have jealousy is because of the sex. Sex is like a recreational drug that the male body needs to survive. Sex with the same person really doesn't last long before it gets old or none at all in the relationship.

Just a little reflection on the word "promiscuous".  If a society is promiscuous, one possible reason is that people (women in particular) are living in poverty or at the very least the kind of straitened circumstances that cause people to accept money or gifts for sexual services (and we are not talking about just "bar-girls").

It would seem that Europeans are only a few percentage points behind the Thais if you read the statistics, the instant gratification society is world wide and has nothing to do with poverty.

What statistics in particular do you have in mind?

First about economic conditions for women in Thailand and in France

and second what statistics other than the workings of your feeble brain tell you that French women are every bit as "promiscuous" as their Thai cousins?

The guy above got it wrong, likening the concept to flat-out prostitution (which it is not) likely because he has never been in that position or had the offer. If you're an older expat mincing around in the same old circles, the closest they'd likely get is a tart playing the long game. But if you're relatively young and good looking (and yes it also applies to farangs), one may often come across the above scenario. Been there, done that, no strings, all good fun.

What is the difference between GIG and GIK? I never heard of GIG before, but have known about GIK for many many years.

Maybe I have just had too many Thai-women in my life, but I could not even be bothered with having a Thai-girlfriend on the side.

 

My Thai-wife is already far more than I can handle and have time for :-) Besides that... The "drama" alone (if found out), is enough to not even having me wanting to consider it.

If you can read Thai you will see that the sign post in thai shown in id 76 spells it gig, กิก it is also pronounced with a hard G and not the softer K for some reason Thais translate the ก as a K which it is not

Im sure that kind was is around too. But the gigs i had were girls that paid their own way. Mind you i came here when i was in my early 30ies. Its easier to not pay for it then. Sure i did pay for food but that was it.

I also know of thai friends that did not pay. But the kind your talking about i have seen only a few times. One girl i knew was such a kept woman by an older thai goverment official. But i would consider that a paid for woman not a gik.
