Safe parking at cambodia border

Hello,

I'm planning to go to angkor wat ,cambodia during Christmas vacation. I am thinking to drive my car from saraburi to aranyaprathet but I am not sure whether it is safe to keep car at aranyaprathet? Is there any safe paid parking service available where I can park my car for 3 days.

Some of my colleague told me that it is not safe and lot of car theft cases were found in past.

Can someone advise me ?

I parked my car in the carpark next to the star mall for 3 days back in september. Nothing happened to it. The car park is protected by a boom gate and it's fairly secure with frequent patrols and the like. Just don't leave any valuables in the car and have insurance for damage.

Two years ago I drove my car to the Aran border and parked in the secure parking lot right before you get to the Immigration Office and parked it there for 3 days.    I forget what I paid but was reasonable and no problem.

The border at Poi Pet is a nightmare, better one to try for SR is up at Surin, Chong Chom, into Cambo at O'Smach. There's an AC bus from border to SR, and I've been told secure carpark, I'm planning a SR trip near end of Jan but I'm going to drive to the border sometime in the next couple weeks to check everything out (I'm in Korat, so not far to drive).

Yes it was an nightmare queuing in poi pet immigration.. it took me almost an hour and a half to clear the custom. While queuing, there some civilian came to us and ask whether if we wanna get our passport stamp quicker at a price of 250b but we afraid it might be a scam so we refuse their offer but when we get closer to the custom house, an custom officer came out and ask the same question at a cheaper rate of 150b haha

I used drive and park at Aranya. It was 100 baht/day but they always ripped me off for an extra day. I stopped driving because the border crossing is just one scam after another. Flying to SR is so much easier and barely any more expensive

I have just been this week, flew with Thai Smile and left the car at the airport. Left Mon morning and came back Wed evening. flight was 5000 baht each return and 250 baht a day parking at the airport. Flights around 50 minutes then about 10 minutes to get visa at SR airport, straight out and 20 minutes on Tuk Tuk to the hotel, easy.
