I had some minor problems with google chrome so I thought to get rid

of it uninstall chrome and install again well it wasn't a good idea to

do this windows 10 will not allow me to uninstall chrome (there is a certain file missing)

So I downloaded chrome again every thing seems to be fine it downloads

and installs chrome but all I get when I click on chrome I get a blank page

with the google logo on the bottom I followed tips and suggestions on the net

how to fix that but nothing works, at the moment I am using IE which is very slow

I could use edge but I can't use my ad blocker so what can I do?

Any ideas ?

So many possible solutions to the Google blank page issue, I've had it myself.

Windows has (and always has had) a completely free antivirus program built in. As it's free and Microsoft don't throw millions in ad money at promoting it, most people believe they need to buy or install third-party antivirus. It used to be called 'Microsoft Security Essentials' but on Windows 10 it's called 'Windows Defender'. Many problems come when people install other programs, disable the Windows antivirus and then let their subscription lapses, leaving them unprotected. Here's what to do:

1. Make sure Windows Defender is turned on.
2. Uninstall any other antivirus program you have.

In most cases, that fixes the blank page issue with Chrome. If not,

3. Run a check on Windows Defender for any malware etc. Address any issues and try running Chrome...
If that doesn't work,
4. Uninstall and reinstall Chrome

If that doesn't work,
5. Right-click on the Chrome desktop icon, select properties,
6. Go to 'Compatibility' tab, click 'Run in 256 colors'

7. Open Chrome, click on menu (three bars, top right), select Settings
8. click on 'Show Advanced Settings, and uncheck 'Use hardware acceleration when available', close Chrome and repeat step 5.

9. uncheck the 256 colors box. Click OK, try to open Chrome, it should work.

They are all the steps I've been through on various occasions in the past. Hope one of them helps you.

Use alt-control-delete and get into task manager. Even though you have shut down Chrome, you will find Chrome components still running. Stop the Chrome components and you should be able do do a clean uninstall.

I use a free program called IObit Uninstaller (there is a better paid for one as well) which uninstalls almost every program that I want deleted.

It also cleans out, deletes and shreds the leftover files if you wish.

Here is a link for it.

I have found these 2 links which may help, or not.

Both links opened up a download link for me to save and open Chrome.

Well it did not make any different same blank page with the google logo on the bottom

all I got is a google shortcut but no google listed in program files

Thanks anyway

Hopefully you've tried restarting your PC between uninstall and reinstall.

What type of computer is this?

AMD/INTEL/OTHER...? What version CPU?

Win10 came with PC, or upgraded from Win 7/8/8.1?

The latest Win10 security updates installed?

What AntiVirus or Security Suites are installed?

Have you tried running the anti-malware cleaners:

MalwareBytes ADWcleaner

Malicious Software Removal Tool   by Microsoft

etc. etc.  ...there are several others but some may not run under Windows 10

Does Firefox install and run? Not suggesting it as a replacement, but it's one of the alternative to Chrome for those that don't like IE or Edge.
