SONGKHLA, 17th December 2016 (NNT) – The Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) is inviting the general public to attend an exhibition honouring the late King Bhubimol Adulyadej’s skills in commerce and intellectual property taking place in Hat Yai from today to 19th December 2016.

The DIP Deputy Director-General Auramon Supthaweethum has revealed the Ministry of Commerce is holding an exhibition honouring the late King Bhubimol Adulyadej’s outstanding abilities in commerce and the creation of intellectual property, in memory of His Majesty who himself registered various intellectual properties which led to royal projects yielding great benefits to the general public.

She said His Majesty had innovated development projects to help solve agricultural, economic, and social issues for the Thai people in accordance with the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, including the Royal Rain project, the Klang-Din land development project, and Chaipattana water turbine, making him rightly recognized as the Father of Thai innovations.

The special exhibition is now taking place at Central Festival Hat Yai Shopping Center in Hat Yai, Songkhla, from today to 19th December 2016. The event features displays of the intellectual property registered by His late Majesty, a place where attendees can sign their messages of condolence, and see performances of royal compositions to inspire a new generation of people.

The event also promotes resistance to the sale of counterfeit products and consumer items, and the promotion of self branded innovations for greater personal income generation.
