Applied with the usual passport sized photos on an extension last 7 days. Immigration documents check desk outside Promendada rejected passport-sized photo adhering to all the general passport application photo requirements ! Another layer of bureau-crap given they take a photo before you get your extension.

Had to pay 200 next door to immigration for oversized photos that now fit the photo outline on the back of extension form.

It said '4x6' within the box and this has never been enforced until now, just like the more stringent Tm30/Tm28 rules up north..

I say, only to let you choose where to get photos vs being forced to use the place next to Promenada immigration. The photos they produced were grainy and awful, yet accepted based on size.

Cheap hand-held camera then the file sent over to desktop printer. Another nice little earner based on the volume of people now being caught out on new size requirements.

This country has got to have the most free-flowing/morphing immigration requirements in the WORLD.

I literally cannot keep up anymore.

There are many immigration offices that will not accept photos smaller than 4 X 6 cm.

When people say passport photos they normally mean a 2 X 2 inch photo which will be accepted. The new 3.5 X 4.5 cm size is to small.

Size requirement is stated on form and many offices have required them that size (or a bit larger) for decades.

Never had an issue on nearly 5 years here in the north.

Always passport sized accepted.

I think it is hit and miss there.  I did my retirement there last month and used the size you claimed to use and had no problem with the retirement or the foreign info sheet - I have just photo copied the foreign info sheet including the pic on it and they accept that fine.  But the year before they made me go next door for the size they were selling.

I have found it best to just do myself using computer/printer for the last decade - that way can cut to the required size and if I misjudge can easily do again (well before actual visit time).  Know the frustrations of that office are enough without anything more added.

Don't get me started with their microphone announcement system.:passifier:

I think the guy puts it in his mouth when he speaks, and I was worried I had gone deaf.... it was giving me wrinkles trying to decipher what he was saying...

Muddiest PA system ever.
