Island View: Unchecked road rage in Phuket

PHUKET: -- As far as road safety in Phuket goes, authorities always highlight ‘speeding’ and ‘helmetless riding’ as the major causes of the appalling number of 'accidents' and deaths on the road. However, a relatively overlooked area – in my opinion – is road rage.

Passenger severely injured when 18-wheeler loses control on Phuket road

PHUKET: -- The passenger in the cab of an 18-wheeler truck was seriously injured yesterday (Dec 26) when the driver lost control on a bend on Thepkasattri Rd. The incident also caused traffic delays as the load fell off the back of the truck covering a large section of the road.

Chaiyaphum Police Dept sells local rice to police officers

 

CHAIYAPHUM, 27 December 2016 (NNT) - The Chaiyaphum Police Department has organized a farmer assistance program by selling rice at 25 baht per kilogram, with a goal of selling rice to all police officers totaling 25 tons of rice.

Gold snatch attempt in North Pattaya

 

PATTAYA: -- At around 10pm on December 26th, police were called to investigate an attempted gold robbery. The incident took place outside a Thai restaurant up in North Pattaya. Arriving on the scene, the police found a Thai businessman, 36 year old, holding part of a gold chain.

Bhichit jailed five years by appeals court in land procurement case

Hotel apologizes for “Allah” script on Christmas tree

After years of conflict, Egypt eases pressure on Gaza
