PM hopes people are happy and healthy

By THE SUNDAY NATION

PRIME MINISTER Prayut Chan-o-cha and other key figures yesterday extended New Year wishes to the public.

Prayut said he hoped people would be happy and healthy and live life consciously, in a national address he read out after midnight.

“I wish all my Thai compatriots to be happy, prosperous and healthy. May you have strong determination and be free from any harm, and your wishes granted. You should serve as an important force in helping move our country forward. Happy New Year 2017,” he said.

Plenty of unhealthy headaches around this am and no doubt more to come.

Earlier, the government leader sent good wishes to the media. In a hand-written New Year card, he said: “I wish the press and the media to be successful, safe and healthy. Please work in collaboration with the government for our nation in 2017 and for years to come.”

Need I comment further?

"...all my Thai compatriots..."

Says it all, really!

113 and counting they and their families will not be happy !

be safe, stay off the roads until the percentages are reduced

I wonder what PM Prayut's New Year's resolutions are? Based on his last years actions and in-actions I worry for the people of Thailand.

" You should serve as an important force in helping move our country forward."

yes, make sure the armories are well guarded.

..And we'll all live happy ever after ..Now boys and girls wasn't that a nice story !!

Next week I'll tell you how to catch a fish with some string and a piece of bamboo..

"move our country forward".  What does that mean for the average, indebted Thai ?   The junta has done nothing for the people other than trash their voice in government and unclog the streets of protesters.  Move the agendas of the rich and entitled forward is more like it.

he forgot in his whish foreigners tax payers living in this country . Anyway I wish him to keep his promises for 2017.

The man with absolute power "wishes" his people were the things he has taken total responsibility for.

Oh, that's right. It's all the fault of the global economy, the previous government, his opponents who won't let him "work," etc...

Thai  people , have  never  had it so good .

           Long live the  junta .

I just binged 7 large leo's and feel very happy! pee prayuth!

ps. my doc tells me my liver isn't too healthy though :-)

Well, I think he'll make many, many kids mentally ill, if his regime brainwashes them with military indoctrination in kindergarten or pull the plug on the internet, social media aka pulling of the act of Single Gateway :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Well I for one sincerely appreciate the well wishes even if they were directed only towards thais and nobody else

'PM hopes people are happy and healthy': well, he shouldn't hope, he should know, as he has, with all his heart and energy, done every thing within his, extended, powers to make it so, hasn't he? ...Has he? (Damn, english being my third language I alaways have problems with those: has he, hasn't he, stuff, LOL)

Anyone remembering the, real and true, anecdote of that French president of yore declaring, in a victory bulletin: 'Yesterday, France was at the edge of the cliff, since then we have made a big leap forward', LOL

Don't worry for the Thais, 'Brer Fox', as long as they can get food for the next day, they won't move one ear... When Thais would have the 'stamina' of some other populations, it would rather be the PM's health and happiness you should worry about... But being (beaten) lame and tame (for centuries) and (still) living in a medieval 'society', who could expect the Thais to come up for their rights...?

Watched him today on the telly. He seemed a bit agitated. Are the bags under his eys getting bigger?

I am no fan of the military administration, but I sort of feel sorry for this guy. He's dealing with some real lazy and corrupt jerks.

why? is  he resigning?

Fair comment, I agree. When making my remark I had uppermost in my mind more the PM's in-actions than anything else. Particularly in fixing roads deaths and corruption at the top end of town, particularly within the civil service. A feeble effort at banal pleading and giving a bit of media publicity to road safety at New Year and Songkran is not fixing the problem.

Maybe he meant to say "comrades"?

And he is continually being undermined by some of his "sidekicks".
