CHAIYAPHUM: -- A 29 year old man was shot in the back of the head during a Buddhist ordination ceremony in a Chaiyaphum village on Monday.

Wirachai Saowichit from Pho Thong village was shot in full view of a hundred guests at the ordination ceremony outside the temple of Wat Phu Khao Thong in Khok Sa-art sub-district.

Police who rushed to the scene found only bloodstains as villagers had taken the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, reports Daily News.

Wirachai had been shot in the back of the head.

Witnesses said that an argument broke out between two groups of men from two different villages during the ordination ceremony.

Nong Bua Rawae police said they believe they know the identity of the shooter and are seeking a warrant for his arrest.

Just call him, and ask him to pop in for an interview if he has time.

These ordination ceremonies must be dangerous if you need a gun at one.

you would think with a hundred people there that whey would know the name of the assassin, not believe they know

Thai Buddhism.

Very kind, peaceful, respectful. Just with the odd bit of murder, violence, drug running and money laundering from time to time.

This is obviously a very serious matter.... requiring no less than three pointers.

With all the killings related to religion around the world I think I will stay a Heathen

you are a infidel whether you like it or not.

With a number gun killings so far in the New Year plus carnage on the roads and yet another delay with the election date the scenario has been set  for 2017 to be annus horribilis for Thailand. Is there any good news apart from tourist numbers increasing?

The Abrahamic Religions.....Christians, Jews and Muslims... consider Buddhism to be a heathen religion.....  so welcome...    Unfortunately all through history..... heathens have killed a great number of people..   So being a heathen does not mean there is no killing...

This murder is a horrible violation of the very first of the Buddhist  Five Precepts....

1. I undertake the training rule to abstain from killing.   Pāṇātipātā veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ samādiyāmi.

That precept means not just humans... but all sentient beings..

If the killer is a Buddhist.....then he is Buddhist in name only....  not in reality.

The good news is I am never going to visit Thailand again.

Then why bother to comment?

Why be surprised ?  Buddhism is as corrupt in Thailand as anything thing else.  Gun law rules and is promoted not just by military coups but just about with anything else. Lets face it, you can kill anyone in that country and get away with it depending upon personnel status and money in the bank.  Nothing and nobody are excluded.  Kill a few people in a mini van and no problem. Kill a high ranking official, no problem.

Corrupt to the core.

But that is what Thais want so no problem.  Mai pen Rai

It has been a failed state for many decades only propped up by certain countries for their own gains.

As we can see on this photo, people are still allowed to point, so long as they point at ... nothing.

In Thailand death most of the time comes in a very unusual way

Alas it has been thus in the three Abrahamic religions throughout the centuries, no need for this to be any different.

I'm an orthodox hedonist. We are the chosen people.  Our primary beliefs are central to the survival of the human race.

The Christians were the world leaders back in the middle ages, but seems they are starting to get bored with the internicine violence these days..... have they learned their lesson? Time for the other religions of Peace to take over the baton....

Please elaborate on failed state and propped up by certain countries, what countries can propped up Thailand? China?, America? Why would any country want to prop up Thailand for?

For a serious crime like this can they not arrest someone without a warrant???

Presume for an easy life the BiB are hoping the judge will decline to sign the warrant. :cheesy:
