BANGKOK: -- Tourists visiting Phu Rua national park have left the popular tourist spot with a huge waste of over 10 tons in six days of the New Year festival.

Park chief Ronnapob Kachamat revealed today that from the period of December 30 last year to January 4 this year, more than 30,000 tourists visited Phu Rua.

They dumped over 10 tons of garbage behind in six days.

The huge dumping prompted park officials to mobilise workers to help collecting them for disposal.

He said that although the park has launched a campaign to encourage participation from tourists to bring some of their wastes for disposal at homes, only two tons of waste could be removed as more than 1,000 tourists joined the campaign.

Why talking about Phu Rua national park for all the parks it's same.

What a stunning example of what slobs human beings can be. Bring garbage take it back with you. Pretty presumptuous to leave it all behind but then thats the nature of the beast. We befoul our own nest. No need to worry about nuclear annihilation we will drown in garbage first. Incredible picture worth a 1000 words

disgusting,i have seen it in other parks, people just tossing bottles ect into bushes.
