Ministry of Justice steps up probe into loan shark ring leader

BANGKOK, 5 January 2017 (NNT) – The Ministry of Justice has ordered an urgent investigation into the finances of the alleged head of a major informal loan network.

Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Justice Pol Col Dusadee Arayawuth has held a meeting combining investigators and other relevant agents discussing the probe into Wichai Pan-ngam, the suspected head of Pathumthani province’s largest loan shark ring known was the Helmet Gang. Authorities have been instructed with inspecting all of the suspect’s finances and adding any new information to data already collected by the Department of Special Investigations, the army and administrative officials.

A raid on Wichai’s operations in December yielded over 150 million baht in seized assets as well as possible connections to politicians.

On whether or not authorities are concerned if Wichai will return to Thailand to turn himself in, Pol Col Dusadee assured investigators have already begun freezing all of his assets and will soon cripple his finances. He let on nonetheless officers are expediting their work for fear that the Helmet Gang will begin accosting debtors to recoup their losses.

If the probe goes limp and silent in next days or weeks, we can assumed that Dem politicians, top police and military officers are involved.

Why Dems?

Just my opinion that as long as Ahbisit is still the DP leader, they will pivot towards the establishment again and will play a big role in forming the next government with some pro junta coalition parties. They must portray a good image and the junta will protect them. History repeats.

This story goes way up....nothing of much consequence will likely happen at the end of the day.

To make a statement such as this, the case is already starting to lose the interest of the cops and investigating group.

If it goes silent for sure some high police or army is involved.. I don't go for your Dem's line as they have been out of power too long. But for sure someone with power would be involved.

...will anything really be done about this....???

...too big and too many 'big' people involved....???

....are some of the credit unions and trust companies involved in this too....???

...like the 'Dhammakaya Affair'....???

Oh Oh the word urgent is appearing that means the bloodhounds will stay on the trail for now. If this thing is as big as purported there could be a huge payday it might even turn into a large treasure hunt for you know who. I think they smell blood sorry bahts.
