urgent ... Tourist Visa limit

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I came to Thailand on October 1st, 2016 from Canada on a 6 month Tourist Visa.  My plan was to marry my fiance who was waiting in Thailand for me. However, after 2 months in Thailand,  I developed health problems that required me to come back to Canada.  It's now January, 11th, and I am afraid if I go back to Thailand now, I won't have enough time to get through all of the marriage visa requirements, before my Tourist Visa expires.

My question is:  When can I apply for a new tourist visa?  If my current visa expires at the end of March (6 months after Oct. 1st) Can I apply for a new 6 month tourist straight away?  in April?

Thank you.

Cameron

I am guessing your visa was issued in September of last year which means it has a enter before date on it in March of this year. If you do an entry on or before that date you will get a new 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration.

If you enter this month you would be able get almost 5 months of stay from your current visa. If that is not enough time to get married you could go to a nearby embassy or consulate and get a single entry tourist visa without a problem.
