I have very little information but the queue is out of the station at Bang Sue.

 

They have announced that the revenue collection system is down and they are using the emergency paper ticketing system.

 

My contact in the revenue department isn't answering his phone (no real surprise).

 

Avoid the MRT if you can, BTS is running fine.

 

 

 

 

Update.

 

System is apparently now back on line, but it will take a considerable time to clear the backlog.

Wow..If the Bang Sue line is out the door then that is a VERY long line as Bang Sue has one of the longest concourse walks, from ticket area to exit, in the entire system.

Yup, I have photos of the queue to the bottom of the escalators

 

A friend said that the gates were not accepting cards or tokens. Huge queues, then everything started working again. 

 

However when they got to their destination station the gates would not let them out, so in the end they left without scanning their card.

It was a very simple and easily rectified technical failure. But simple failures can bring down whole systems.
