Time For The Chiang Mai Photographic Group Exhibition

The Chiang Mai Photographic Group will be holding their 9th annual exhibition at MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Centre in January and invite you to enjoy a remarkably diverse collection of work by 35 photographers from half a dozen countries.
This compilation of arresting images is our ninth exhibition and the subjects range from intimate portraits and abstract compositions to startling architecture and stunning landscapes.   Previous events have met with much critical acclaim and this year’s show features more black and white photographs and an even greater selection of unusual and sometimes challenging subjects.

 

 

MAYA has once again kindly allocated us a great location on the 3rd Floor next to the glass elevators and the show opens daily from Saturday, 28th January to Sunday, February 12th.  Martin Venzky-Stalling, founder of Creative Chiang Mai, will be presiding over the Grand Opening at 4:00pm on Saturday Jan 28th and we hope you will join us for a glass of wine and meet the CMPG members whose photographs are on display.

 

The CMPG is a non-profit organisation which aims to further all aspects of the picture taking abilities of its members through the sharing of skills and mutual support in an informal and inclusive atmosphere. For more information visit cmphotogroup.com.

A late change by Maya had us working into the early hours of Saturday morning and then restarting with a team of volunteer members who showed up at 7.00am but in the end we just about had it up and looking passable by lunchtime ready for the Grand Opening.

 

Assuming you weren't among the couple of hundred lucky people who made it along to sample the lavish CMPG hospitality (well, the best boxes of wine that Makro has on the shelves anyway), here are some pictures from Citylife that will give you an idea of what you missed.
