Free tourist visa in Lao.

Featured Replies

Just got back from my visa run to Vientiane. All 90 day tourist visas are free there till the end of February. Why such generosity? Does anyone know?

That´s been a worldwide thing since December I believe.... It´s been widely mentioned on TV. Think the program runs till the end of Feb.

Thanks DUS. I've clearly not been paying attention. But why is it free? Answer me that, please, someone. I'm not complaining mind.

You have a 60 day Tourist Visa, check the admitted until date on your Passport, it will show 60 days from entry

Yes you can extend but if you do not do this on or before the admitted to date on your PP then you will be on a overstay

If indeed the stamp does say 15 April then his is a mistake by the I/0 which is your responsibility to rectify by going to a Immigration office within Thailand, if you don't and it is spotted upon departure then you will be paying 15000 baht for a 30 day overstay

Joe, what docs for my 60 day VE extension TM7 (by Marriage) at Udon IO, and can I do alone?

Your wife will need to be with you when you apply. You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.

Copy of household registration book ie my Yellow Book?

The will want a copy of your wife's house book registry.

Your yellow house book would be good to prove proof of residence.
