If some TV members were thinking about having a jolly boys outing, maybe to Bangkok or Pattaya and organised properly then I might be surely tempted, but Chiang Mai, forget it, it`s lost it`s omfff and a night out here would be a struggle to find any action, a waste of money, time and probably end up having an early night alone for most of us. Buffet is fabulous at 1999 baht and I think I could get them to do a free flow wine and bubbly adder for 1000 baht. Nice surroundings and we'll be in the private room, yet close to the buffet. I think the getting senselessly drunk, with blurring head banging music surrounded by sweaty backpackers in some back street dark, dank grotty bar somewhere sounds like a cheaper and better alternative. The us, is Opal and I, along with my elder sister whom I'm bringing over from Liverpool for a visit. As we will be holidaying, nightly outings are mandatory, however hallucinogenic raves will be off the menu ( if any still exist! ) and sly grogging venues after midnight. Kick off point will be from the Le Bistrot & Terrace at the corner of Chang Khlan & Loi Kroh. Although, in the interest of truth-in-advertising sometimes Le Meridien has to substitute Canadian lobster for Maine lobster.
