January 26, 20179 yr I have been wondering the same thing for a while now... I went swimming in the salt water pool on top of the Centric Sea...I loved it Salt water pools are so good for your skin... They are way way way better than chlorine pools.. The sea water in the ocean at Pattayas beach is so polluted that it has very little therapeutic effect... But the seawater at Ko Larn is quite nice.. Do to the lack of payed salt water pools in Pattaya... If any one knows of a hotel with a salt water pool that could.maybe be use on the sly please PM me...Thanks a lot.... January 27, 20179 yr I don't understand why there are not more salt water pools? You need to use a lot less chemicals and they are more easy to maintain.... For any one who has not used one....The salt level is I would guess is about 50-60% ?? of ocean water... Edited January 27, 20179 yr by fforest1
January 27, 20179 yr Author Good question if i had a poolvilla i certainly had it with saltwater.i have been told that the saltwater pools are slightly higher in maintenance expenses.
January 27, 20179 yr Jomtien Beach Condominiums has a salt water pool . It was great until they had some issues I guess and a few of the residents caught them using chlorine . They said it was only a temporary thing but one never knows in a country that seems to think they have permission to lie to foreigners . ( it sure get old [emoji20]
March 9, 20179 yr salt water pools are still chlorine pools a salt water chlorinator turns the salt into chlorine. So it is not chemical free and chlorinators are more expensive to run to produce the chlorine from the salt. Edited March 9, 20179 yr by Davejf2017 more information
March 10, 20179 yr We had a swimming pool built in our village last year and wanted a salt water system. Only one of the contractors we asked to tender was willing to install the salt water filtration system. I've no idea why, are they much more complicated to install, or is it just that the parts aren't so readily available in Thailand?
March 10, 20179 yr Author I even hear its possible to make natural water swim pools without any chemicals.

June 21, 20179 yr Just to update this thread.... I did a fairly decent search for a saltwater pool in Pattaya... I even check out the possibility of sneak swimming in hotel pools.... Unfortunately I did not find any thing acceptable... But I did check out Jomtien sauna .... Jomtien sauna is a first class operation that I recommend... And its good Jomtien sauna is a good place because its pretty much the only public option available for a saltwater pool near Pattaya that I know of.....
June 22, 20179 yr I've have had a salt water pool for 9 years No problems at allBeautiful waterSwimm every day.I live on the dark side
June 23, 20179 yr Salt water pools are still chlorine pools as they use salt chlorinators that turn the salt into chlorine, but it is a better experiance swimming in them.

Salt water pools have a much much nicer effect on your skin... Its kind of hard to put in words but I find salt water pools much more refreshing...
