BANGKOK: -- The Defence Ministry-led reconciliation panel is expected to wrap up all the proposals, recommendations and views about reconciliation in three months’ time, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said on Thursday.

He said more academics would be invited to join the military-dominated panel in discussing the ten core issues for reconciliation before moving to the next step – which is to gauge opinions for the academia, the private sector and the public regarding the core issues.

From the full article:

"he was confident that the blueprint would not turn out to be just a piece of paper, but could be actually implemented with law being written in compliance with the blueprint."

Now we know what the true objective is!

Forced reconciliation.  No surprise.

Mandatory military style reconciliation is about where it will all end. People should accept there will be no democratic election process.

all of this nonsense of plans, spending, flags, posters..... everything except solutions to problems.  this is true for this topic, and the 'education crisis' in spades.....

ordinary Thai do not even pay attention to any of this nonsense, only other government officials do.  it's like an ajarn I know who drives 30 kilometers to a Thai high school.. attends 2 or 3 class sessions where she reads in English from a book... and the only person in the room listening to the ajarn is the ajarn herself. all of the students are, hidden in their books, playing with a phone or reading a comic book with absolutely stunning poker faces.

the only people, other than herself, who genuinely ever engage in a real conversation with her... are always other ajarn. never students or parents... for whom conversation is a pure façade, totally fake and worthless.  same here.  over and over again. a sign of insanity.

I might be missing something here, but after daily doses of junta propaganda espousing "progress" along their so-called roadmap to whatever it's called (peace, reconciliation, reform, democracy), we are now being told by the rotund homunculus that we are also going to have a "...reconciliation blueprint in three months..." !!!

But, hey, as Mark Twain is credited as saying, "Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story, unless you can't think of anything better".

So, it's probably appropriate that everyone refresh their memories about what Prayut said way back on May 30, 2014 (https://is.gd/FxR1JM), specifically that part under the heading Roadmap of the NCPO, viz:

1) Phase 1: The first phase will involve efforts to achieve national reconciliation as soon as possible, at least within two to three months.

Looks like we are not encountering a new crossroad on this roadmap, but instead we've been stuck on the same roundabout for almost three years - talk about the land where time stood still !!!

Nothing new in this process and the outcome will be the same - conflict.

After government screening of course. Want to keep out any radicals with ideas that might make sense.
