Hello everyone,

I have recently been diagnosed with a multi nodular goiter. Fine needle aspiration biopsy result of two of the thyroid nodules came back as suspicious so my endocrinologist says I need to have a near-total thyroidectomy. Can anyone recommend me a good (or great) surgeon in Bangkok who can perform this procedure?

I would be asking your endocrinologist (or are you outside Thailand?).  Believe this is a common operation.  I had half of mine removed a few years ago (solid mass proved to not be cancer after removal - but thyroid was not working before or after in any case).

Needs a head and neck surgeon.  I am rather surprised your endocrinologist had no recommendation. The following are top thyroid surgeons in Thailand, trained in endoscopic approaches:

1. Prof. Suchart Chantawibul at Ratchawithi hopsital It is a government hospital but has  an after hours clinic where you can see him by appointment

2. Prof Suebwong Chuthapisith - at either Siriraj Hospital or Bangkok Hospital

3. Prof. Angkoon Anuwong - at Bumrungrad Hospital  and also at the Police Hospital (government)

If you are uninsured, be forewarned that both Bumrungrad and Bangkok Hospitals are expensive

Thank you Sheryl for the recommendations. Actually my doctor did recommend someone, Dr. Vitchaphan Hemrungrojn at Bumrungrad (https://www.bumrungrad.com/doctors/Vitchaphan-Hemrungrojn). Know anything about him? I wasn't sure if I should go with him which is why I asked here for other surgeons
