"Just because you old fellas wanna be tucked up in bed with your teddy by midnight does not mean that we all have too."

Well, if you want something, it must be a good idea.

There's no way that a young person could possibly want something that would be dangerous and life threatening.

Because youth = intelligence ?

LOL.  It goes with the territory.  Everybody wants what everybody wants, and it basically happens because it takes statist governments and socialist policies, and "progressive" politicians, to fulfill everybody's own little pet agendas.  Nanny states happen because people WANT government "taking care" of them and giving them stuff, and have been dumbed down to the point where they actually believe that's government's job.  Nobody wants the politician who wants minimalist government, and Big Brother OUT of our lives, and preservation of individual liberties.  Damn conservatives.   So get to bed early and eat your vegetables and mind your language.  You wanted Big Brother.  You got Big Brother.   Slavery.  Sheep-herding.  Whatever you call it, it's the people's choice.

Will never happen, never ever in the foreseen future.  Too much money to be lost to the right people if the government approve it.  Right now, people pay to stay open late, with occasional closures and early closures throughout the year to enforce the reason why people are paying.  If the government were to allow 4am closures as "normal" within the entertainment zone, the businesses would not have to pay tea money, as this new time would be allowed by the government.  Now take into account how much is being paid, some clubs 200,000 per month, bars 3000 per month times the number of venues and that is a lot of money.  They will never allow it.

One of the great mysteries of life, to me at least, is why anybody needs to drink through the night.

I recall when I was about 16, boozing, and partying (whatever that means), right through the night and I felt so wretched the following  day, and the one after, that I decided it would never happen again, and it hasn't.  It was such a waste of time.

Why anybody would want to spend a vacation like that is, and always will be, a great mystery.

If this were to be implemented, negating the need for tea money to remain open late, I have every confidence that the BiB et al will devise another way to extort money from the bars and clubs. I would expect future shakedowns involving music, bargirls, etc.

Good,if you start early, plenty of time to party.

at age of 64, it is obvious that your desire to party has somehow faded away.

But that does not mean others want to go to bed early too.

I am not a party-maniac myself any longer either, but as long as this takes place in a designated zone out of residential areas, who T F has the right judge this

Good.
Tourists want to celebrate and make party.
In addition, this would remove the breeding grounds for corruption,
if bar owners could open legally until 4 am.

Oh you poor, naive fool!

Only stupid for alcoholics who need a drink after that. Why not let all the venues stay open till 4am without alcohol, of course that would be like taking the dummy out of the babies mouth, how much is enough, go home and drink.

Maybe you would prefer Thailand introduces Sharia law?

People go on holiday to relax and have a good time.

Midnight for bars and restaurants is ridiculous, and 1am for nightclubs is a joke.

In entertainment areas there is no reason the party should stop early, but in residential areas the noise should stop at 1am. People have to sleep when you have work in the morning, tourists don't.

One minute you say; people go on holiday to relax and have a good time

Next you say there is no reason the party should stop early

A little contradictory, don't you think

Where's the contradiction? Not everyone relaxes by sitting on a beach and going to bed early... Many like to "unwind" with some entertainment, food, dancing and a few drinks.

Or are you a Methodist or something?

stupid post of the year. Law says I cant roam the streets naked and I don't roam the streets naked. That makes me a slave?

Do you have  job? Don't follow the rules and see if they pay you. In fact you don't need money , just rob someone when you are broke. Its against the law , so doing it will free you as a 'slave'.

I did see it and I did get fed up of my bits being grabbed while walking back to the hotel at night or early morning and promises of a good time for a 50B and all this with the wife walking alongside me, dam ladyboys sure had some cheek

So choose Hua Hin but alas that's nearly as bad today if last visit 2016 is anything to go by

So sounds like the big clean up is on, I still will not go back, no sun loungers on the beach and I do hate sand in the crack of my A>> and around those bits
