Thailand to use Japan’s Kansai model as blueprint to develop EEC

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has advised policy makers to use Japan's Kansai model as the country's blueprint to develop the country’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), Mr Kobsak Pooyrakool, the assistant minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed yesterday.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Russia has deployed a new cruise missile despite complaints by U.S. officials that it violates an arms control treaty banning ground-based U.S. and Russian intermediate-range missiles, a senior Trump administration official said on Tuesday.

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - The slight girl in a turquoise headscarf held back tears as she recalled what happened when she fled to Malaysia from Myanmar's violence-hit Rakhine state. Just 12-years-old at the time, she was forced to wed a man she did not know, and who was more than a decade older than her.

Fisheries Department announces 3-month prohibition of fishing in central Gulf of Thailand

 

BANGKOK, 15 February 2017 (NNT) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives has issued an announcement to prohibit all fishing activities in the Gulf of Thailand between February 15 and May 15, to rehabilitate the marine resources.

PHUKET: -- A contingent totalling 45 officers carried out a public inspection tour of Phuket International Airport yesterday (Feb 14), and warned public transport drivers, namely Phuket taxi and van drivers, to “follow the rules”.

(Reuters) - Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, the New York Times reported on Tuesday, citing four current and former U.S. officials.

China death toll from bird flu surges to 79 people in January

BEIJING (Reuters) - As many as 79 people have died from H7N9 bird flu in China last month, the government said, far surpassing the number of deaths in the same month in recent years and stoking worries about the spread of the virus this winter.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - U.S. immigration authorities have detained a 23-year-old Mexican man who was brought to the United States illegally as a child but later given a work permit during the Obama administration, according to a lawsuit challenging the detention in Seattle federal court.

Six suspects arrested for stealing huge cache of firearms in 2012

PATTAYA: -- A few days ago on February 13th, Pattaya One reported that a dead body had been found near to the railway line in Soi Siam Country Club. Four suspects have now been taken into custody and will be interrogated over the murder.
