Maybe OP has been keeping the reefer instead of the reef.

it  will  live forever and its a  seriously hard  job, get an Ostrich instead, when you get bored with it you can club it to death and eat it or get two and have giant eggs on toast

I was told you can buy a baby elephant for $15 grand...no permit required.

Or to go along with the 5 acres of prime beachfront property they just bought.

Actually, it used to be $5,000. I don't know what it is now. I know the OP, super nice guy. He loves keeping and taking care of animals and fish (the reef). He is an extremely conscientious caretaker and if he ever did take care of an elephant the elephant's life would likely be improved immeasurably.

I have thought of buying one to give to sanctuary with money to see out its life but would I just be encouraging a trade?
