I was just wondering how many of you have secret pasts and claims to fame, things you will always remember or maybe you would rather forget.

Mine, which should be appreciated by all the Scots in the house, as it has to do with Scottish history. My claim to fame is that when people walk down the Royal Mile in Edinburgh and spit in the Heart of Midlothian, as is the tradition, they do so because they are spitting on the "grave" of my long dead ancestor. In fact the whole Heart of Midlothian was put there to mark and commemorate his terrible deeds!!

Well, if we are on the Royal Mile then I can talk about mine - my family - on my Dad's side are supposedly descended from John Knox - who I think founded the church of Scotland - but you can pay money and visit his house.

Flint, are you a haggis-muncher too?

My claim to fame I guess is that I was the last person to talk to Jerry Garcia and found him dead when I was nightman at a alcohol and drug rehab in California on Aug. 9, 1995. My claim to infamy was everything I did that ultimately led me to rehab myself... Oh, and my Dad used to have sex with Rock Hudson in gay saunas in Los Angeles during the 80's, does that count?

I think that's a definite yes!! So he is dead then, I know there are lots of theories going round...

And TDSK... we were a long time ago Scottish name, tartan, crest etc... but we headed south a hundred years ago.

This one's for the british folks, Whilst on holiday in the carribean a few years back, my gf and I managed to end up in a room next to one, mr John Leslie, AKA d-list celebrity sex pest/coke feind!!

Got to know him and his, at the time gf miss Abi Titmuss(she aint that hot) quiet well.

He was fired from his daytime tv show 3 days after we got back to blighty due to rape accusations!!

And to think I let the misses near him!!

I stood chatting to Stevie Wonder before he went on stage at the only club date during a UK tour. He refused to do any clubs but the Mojo in Sheffield. All the others were theatres.

My mind is a maelstrom of comments. Some rude, some crude and some downright offensive. But in the interests of "if you can't say anything good say nothing" I'll say nothing.

Fame? Me? You must be joking, best I can come up with is:-

Mesmerised by Jimmy Hendrix at his penultimate gig (Isle of Wight, 1970) :D

Minor player in the Concorde project (major thermal fatigue testing, RAE Farnborough, 1971-1974) :D

Struck by lightning (lock #25, Basingstoke canal, 1976) :D

Won five quid on the football pools (circa 1977) :o

A Major League Scout came to a High School Baseball game to have a look at Mike Norris former Oakland A's Pitcher. I was called in to pitch the last 3 innings of the game and a week later was contacted for a tryout by the Texas Rangers. I never went so who knows.......................

A few brushes with fame, notably modelling Worzel Gummage pyjamamas as a kid - though never got to meet Una Stubbs :o

I was in some swanky West End bar with my missus celebrating her swanky mate's birthday when a famous BBC actor off 'Holby City' walked in (Jeremy something?)...

He was instantly surrounded by girls going wobbly at the knees, asking for autographs and generally interferring with the man's desire for a quiet bevvie. So, I sauntered over and had a chat with him, telling him how sorry I felt for him that he cant just go out for a beer 'like us normal folk'. He said that it was a pain, but he was used to it etc... then motioned over to the bar and said 'my GF gets a bit miffed sometimes with all the attention though'.

So, I walked over to his lovely lady sitting alone at the bar. We struck up conversation and I told her that I felt for her, telling how awful it must be to be going out with a celebrity but how she shouldn't be worried as her fella, although (mildy) famous, seemed like a nice, ordinary bloke... I glanced over to my GF, who was staring at me wide eyed. I thought that she was getting jealous and had better head off before I got into hot water...

Anyway, I walked back over to my GF who demanded 'what were you saying to that woman?' After telling her, she starting wetting herself with laughter. When I asked why, she told me that the male celebrity's missus was none other than Rachel Stevens - the very, very famous pop singer (well, she was at that time - no idea if she still is... though I bet she's still stunning!) ...and here's stupid old me telling her about how awful it must be to go out with a (B List) celeb!

Darth Vader tried to shag my Mum in 1982.

...and he had (several decades earlier) shagged another woman that my Dad subsequently eloped with when I was 13 years old.

Wow! The Force runs strong in your family!!
