BANGKOK: -- POLICE have found moves on social media to mobilise Dhammakaya Temple supporters, although no political connection has been confirmed so far, the national police chief said yesterday.

Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda said the Royal Thai Police were working with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to monitor activities by a group of people mobilising demonstrators at the controversial temple in Pathum Thani.

The monitoring would cover people living in neighbouring countries “trying to stir people up”, the police chief said.

“We have found movements on social media, with attempts to provoke people. The authorities are keeping an eye on this,” Chakthip told reporters yesterday.

But why do these foreigners want to stir up trouble? I guess it's because they're insanely jealous of Thailand and what it has.

I look forward to more foreigners being blamed for the authorities ineptitude.

Those so called Monks look dubious to me. Finger pointing is considered rude in Thailand so it appears that the Monk pointing his finger is probably a plant from some other corrupt money laundering nation such as Panama. Interesting considering the apparent billions of baht involved and the alleged money laundering activities going on there.  All the pieces of the illegal jigsaw are now falling into place.

Are they trying to give us that "We are everywhere feeling?"

This temple should be completely shut down until the former abbott is found and arrested.

Nobody should be allowed in except the resident monks. The property should all be considered

part of a crime scene and treated as such. No supporters should be allowed onto the temple

grounds for any reason.

Geezer

Last evening I watched a Monk being interviewed on TV during the day. He quite clearly said that the people inside are blocked in and can't get out. Of course they can get out, just vacate and go home. Signs were up written in English about needing food...must have been foreigners that wrote it?...Again, vacate and let the authorities do their job unhindered. Women were crying and I thought that they were acting (?) as though peoples lives were in danger like being trapped in a collapsed mine shaft (no disrespect intended to miners who have lost their lives). The people inside are choosing to stay and are not trapped and can walk away from it all anytime. What a sham!

Emotional blackmail, that's all it is. Some "guilty" and self serving people are starting to feel the heat now.

Great in theory but would not work. The people that would crack down would be worried to much about their position in the afterlife.

A new strategy is needed to capture the Abbot and I have an idea.
-Drop all charges against the abbot, his monks and the temple.
-Pull out all the police, soldiers and men dressed as boy scouts
-Ban all bad press against the temple.
-The government drops all interest in the case.
Now just wait 1, 2 or 3 years from now until the Abbot turns up. Then grab him (special ops) use of a helicopter maybe. And there you go. Gotcha!

And clearly (already mentioned by the authorities) there are folks inside and outside who are winding this up and telling lies.

- They need to be found and appropriately punished.

- The authorities need to dig deeper as to who is directing these folks and for what ultimate purpose.

Always somebody else's fault! Local ineptitude just doesn't exist.  Authorities understand that if you say something often enough and loud enough it becomes the accepted truth. Until, of course, the shit hits the fan in spectacular fashion. Will the temple become The Fan for the current government in "democratic" Thailand?

I understand in the news today that the Monk spokesman has apparently 'gone missing' after his name was put on the wanted list. Ha, give it time and they'll all be 'gone missing'.
