smx1313
I've had these before, plan on getting another for my next visit in Jan. If I have a 60 day "permission to stay" stamp, but leave the Kingdom say...15 days after I arrive, come back a week later, is my visa used up? Or am I still good for the rest of the 60 days? If I leave for a week does that kind of extend my 60 days for the week I was away? Is that what is ment by single entry? Is it 60 days total or 60 days from my day of entry? Am I dependant on 30 day stamps after that? Thanks
lopburi3
One entry of up to 60 days. If you leave early so be it - the visa was used when you entered. A new visa or visa free entry will be required - unless - There is a way around this by use of the re-entry permit which you obtain from immigration prior to leaving at the cost of 1,000 baht. That will allow you to return for the remainder of your original permitted to stay time. You lose the time you were not in Thailand but can remain until 25th of March of that was your original entry until date.
smx1313
I see, so I would need to get a re-entry permit or plan my travels torward the end of the 60 days. Now, it that's the case, could I extend my stay another 90 days via three 30 day stamps? 60 days + 90 days = 150 days?
lopburi3
You could extend your stay 30 days with a visit to immigration and payment of 1,900 baht. From current policy you could then travel in/out using entry without visa for a total of 90 days. But until the new policy is implemented there is no guarantee that all will be as designed or expected.
smx1313
Yes, I guess we're all waiting to see how it shakes out. BUT, in theory... 60 days + 30 day extension + 90 days (3 30 day stamps) = 180 days, 6 months. Then another 60 day visa. Repete cycle. Or do you think after 90 days of any variation they say "you're done"?
lopburi3
Immigration claims they will not be saying goodbye. That if you obtain visa entry every so often you should be good. Only time will tell.
