rooster59 Posted March 3, 2017 Share Posted March 3, 2017 YEN-D 4.0 project to help grow border trade By THE NATION THE COMMERCE Ministry is going ahead with its plan to boost the value of border trade to Bt1.8 trillion this year, while continuing the Young Entrepreneur Network Development (YEN-D) project to build up a network of new-generation business operators in Thailand and neighbouring countries. After the launch of the third season of project yesterday, dubbed “YEN-D 4.0”, Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said her ministry aimed to increase the value of border trade to Bt1.8 trillion in 2017, from Bt1.47 trillion last year. The key target is to develop new checkpoints and improve the existing ones, she said. Been told there is very little in the way bus transport options between rural Thailand (Issan) and rural Cambodia. Without affordable transport, trade has a hard time flourishing. Siem Reap is bustling. Bet with Cambodia's open attitude to foreign investment, the rural areas on the Cambodian side will develop faster than on the Thai side.
