Na Jomtien Burglar Caught After MacBook Signal Leads Police to Hideout
Pictures courtesy of Kaoded. A man who targeted homes in foreigner-populated neighbourhoods has been arrested after police tracked him down using the signal from a stolen MacBook. Officers discovered a trove of stolen items, including cash, jewellery, and luxury brand bags, in his possession. On 2 April, a joint operation by investigators from Na Jomtien and Pattaya Police Stations led to the arrest of 37-year-old Jamrat Nuansi at The Venetian Condominium in Na Jomtien, Sattahip district, Chonburi. The suspect was found with stolen jewellery, various foreign currencies, designer bags, and a white Honda Civic (registration from Bangkok), which he allegedly used during his burglaries. The investigation began earlier that morning when a Burmese victim reported a burglary. Using tracking software, the victim traced their stolen MacBook to a parked vehicle at the condominium. When police questioned the security guard, they identified the suspect’s room, where officers found Jamrat along with a large amount of stolen property. During questioning, Jamrat admitted to breaking into homes, specifically targeting residences of foreign nationals. He revealed that he worked as a maintenance worker but supplemented his income by stealing valuables and selling them for personal expenses and online gambling. Following his confession, Na Jomtien police transferred him to Pattaya investigators for further questioning and legal proceedings. He now faces multiple charges related to theft and burglary. -- 2025-04-03 -
