CityNews – On the 2nd March a local reporter received news from Nakhon Ping Hospital that a patient had been transferred there from Hod District with 80 degree burns on her body.

It was unclear who she was at first. Following a social media post about the incident that soon went viral, it was discovered that the woman was Sawaluck ‘Mint’ Promchitmart, 25, a food vendor from Hod.

Witnesses say that on the night of the 1st March, she was seen with a man, speculated to be her husband or boyfriend, in a karaoke bar. They then drove to a milk shop where they started arguing. Witnesses say that both parties appeared to be drunk.

Soon witnesses saw that she was engulfed in flames and many rushed up to douse her with water before she was rushed off to hospital in Hod.

I think I will go with the idea that the man has something to do with it.
Otherwise, why would he diappear, if not the usual run first appear later syndrome goes.

Well, it's a "mystery" to me and so I'll bite.  What's an "80-degree burn"?

well I did not go to University but I worked it out that it meant 80% of her body

There was another report the other day about a guy who set his wife on fire

in their car,and another one who was set on fire for posting selfies on Facebook,

in India,Pakistan and Bangladesh jealous husbands, boyfriends usually use acid,

here  petrol must be easier to come by,so they use that.sick people who cannot

take rejection.

Man douses his girlfriend with petrol and sets her alight. This place is positively medieval. I hope she somehow recovers, and the culprit is sent away for life.

Unlikely. 30% is life threatening. Above 50% is normally fatal. The body just can't deal with that much damage and such a large area with no skin to stop infection.

Best you can hope is that she wakes long enough to tell police what happened, and even that isn't likely.

I do hope the truth comes out though and that if she was set alight the person responsible meets judgment.

Most likely burns to 80% of her body, but not necessarily 3rd degree burns everywhere.

A burn that's 26.6666666 times worse than a 3 degree burn.

Am I reading this right, the hospital contacted the media?  Is someone trying to cash in for 5 minutes of fame, what about the privacy of the patient.

Maybe, just maybe, the hospital was trying to get information out to the public quickly in trying to assist with information to apprehend then suspect mentioned.  Common sense would say using the media  is much quicker than printing flyers and distributing door to door.
