Pickpocket video: Bad for the image of Thai lady boys!

webfact

Unfortunately the country has had a rather bad image for quite some time now - and it's not all the ladyboy community's fault either.

Yes, there are good sides to it, too, but if the authorities stopped worrying about the "image" and actually tried fighting these crimes instead, the country's image would improve dramatically.

Manage online said that such footage was bad for Thailand's image and bad for the image of the transgender community as well.

I think it is much worse for the nations image that neither the RTP nor the jurisdiction is capable to handle a decades old problem caused by criminal lady boys in Pattaya, Phuket and Bangkok.

The cops, RTP and BIB,  have seen these two items time and time again. They do not raise any suspicion at all. Harmless when seen or handled appropriately. But thrust your hand into my pocket with the speed of many thieves, that is when you are going to hurt and hurt badly you will.

If I told you what the objects were, you would then know what they are, hence the surprise factor would be lost. Suffice to say they are totally legal in all aspects, you just need the brains to make them very hurtful to some scumbags. Final answer, they are not illegal at all. Use your brains and figure something out of plain ordinary things.

Come on give us a clue

It does not make it right, but it is everywhere like this: Paris, Seattle, Rome,... I don't carry my Rolex watch at night in Bogota too and if I were a truly beautiful woman, I would not walk there at night either. It might be as bad in Rome or Paris, but ...

Here we go again.another trying to say its the same in other countrys. No its not.The big difference. The police in thailand know its happening, and see it.and do nothing.then if its made its way to the media, like this.they will show that the suspect is caught.not that they got 500 baht fine.and that there back out doing the same. But if they catch the person who gave it to the media. They will get a very big fine or even jail.We all know how thailand is not the same.Crime the same.Justice no.

The ladyboys are harassing/robbing people for decades, the police doesn't do anything about it.

Myself i got surrounded by a group of them late at night at Samui, they tried to rob me but i escaped. They are a gang on motobikes.

Thailand should protect it's outstanding image abroad. There are plenty of jokes about it in my homecountry.

I happen to know quite a few ladyboys in Pattaya, none of them ever tried to rob me or rip me off. So, these weird stories about Thai ladyboys spreading in the West shouldn't be taken too serious.

All the decent people here posting negative things about ladyboys here, please be careful....there are lot of farang members here who love ladyboys or are ladyboys themselves or in the closets and get upset about such negative postings, despites majority of these ladyboys being criminals ,ugly and mentally sick. Yes, there are good and decent and beautiful  ladyboys....but only a very small miniscule minority.

So far in Thailand I have thwarted one attempted pickpocketing, and it was by a ladyboy who tried to nab my phone.

On the other hand, I have a very good friend here who is a ladyboy.

Can't tar everyone with the same brush.

Does it matter who commits the crime? Anyone is equally guilty, whether it be a person or an "organisation". :post-4641-1156693976:

exactly!!! i have several katoey (the proper name for "ladyboys", i.e., "3rd gender", including both transgender & effeminate gay males) friends throughout Thailand (not just Pattaya, Bkk and Phuket- they are everywhere, and most have no interest in leading a life of crime... but, the lure of easy money via selling one's body is hard to resist- at least here there is not (among the Thai people anyways) the same stigma against them as in the West, where due to intolerance & misunderstanding & cultural bias (& fear, frankly), prostitution is often the only avenue of western katoey to make money...

the problem of pickpocketing and theft in red light districts and bars is not confined to katoey prostitutes alone, but they are they ones who always get the most negative press and victim indignation- largely because of the victim's inherent prejudice against them...

and MANY of these  kvetching <deleted> on these TVF threads have been fleeced repeatedly by genetic female bar girls,  :burp: but don't realize it as they end up marrying them

(hahahahaha):cheesy:

The image of the lady-boy community?
What "image" is it that other than ongoing problems?

you don't REALLY get out much outside of the bar areas, or actually speak Thai, do you Sparky??? MOST katoey are NOT criminals, but keep exhibiting your ignorant prejudice :post-4641-1156693976:

true that, as i mentioned elsewhere in this thread the majority of katoey are NOT criminals, it is just their crimes are disproportionately magnified- when a "regular girl" rips a Westerner off, they tend to shrug it off, but when a katoey does it, the vic screams bloody murder- and since katoey represent a minority of the sex workers, they are the ones who are publicized

i have hundreds of katoey friends throughout Thailand, in EVERY community i have visited in the 34 provinces i have seen so far, and very few are prostitutes, and not all prostitutes are thieves...
