I don't know much about traveling on these trains, but can't you just buy a return ticket when you purchase your 4 baht to go visit your friend ? Or do you just hope for the 2 baht each way deal.

Spanish is my go-to language for insulting people in Thailand. Never insult anyone in English.  Innocent schoolchildren might understand certain key words ?
