Suspect admits to taking thousands of pornographic pictures of boys but denies other charges, including molestation.

A Swiss man will go on trial on allegations he sexually abused more than 80 boys - some as young as nine years old - in Thailand, authorities in Switzerland said on Friday.

The unnamed man has admitted to taking thousands of pornographic pictures of the boys, but denied allegations that he molested some of them and pushed some into prostitution, according to prosecutors in the western Swiss canton of Fribourg.

The abuse is alleged to have taken place since 2001.

The man had previously been convicted of sexually abusing children in Switzerland: in Fribourg in 1980, and in the southern canton of Valais in 1991.

He had moved to Thailand that same year, and only returned to Switzerland in 2014.

International cooperation regarding  travelling sex offenders needs sorting out. So many of this kind out there and information not openly shared .

Why isn't there a global bulletin board for all law enforcement agencies to check regarding sex offenders?

Photos, crime and place. Ignore the murderers and fraudsters,  just get this one going. Easily done but not existent. Still bilateral. Get multi.

" Most of the victims were young adolescents, but some were as young as nine years old, they said, adding that a number of the boys had been abused over the course of several years."

Take the prisoner out back and shoot him twice in the head.

Next case.

Am I missing something? How can you make a porn pic without molesting. Unless they meant naked pics which I don't think comes under porn
Either way chemical castration would fix it.

I know several posters have already mentioned this, but why do the authorities ever issue these people passports !!!

Once on a sex register they should be banned from travelling, especially to Countries where child exploitation is well known, In this computer, information age we now live in it should not be possible for these perverts to continue to roam with impunity...

Personally, I don't care if he was or wasn't molesting them while taking pornographic pictures. He is clearly a danger to young boys and needs to go to jail for a long time.

He was charged previously in 80 and 91  no benefit of the doubt with me.

We go back to 1991 for the last offence, there was no register then and it all depends on the Country of origins relationship with Thailand , that will dictate what kind of information is exchanged.

Something tells me regardless the amount of time this man is sentenced to (if found guilty) his roommates will be reducing the length of his sentence significantly.

there is a global bulletin board.

they are all listed on a secret group on facebook.

the ngo volunteers and most of the service workers in thailand like security guards and taxi drivers have access to it but not the police.

These individuals are just sick. We're supposed to be civilised and yet we let people like this on the streets to create mayhem once more... because we're 'civilised' and believe everyone has a right to live. What utter crap! The world is overpopulated. Let's wake up, get real and start by removing these types. What good is he doing stealing the decent people's air?
