Yes Mr. Anan Charoenchasri

you adress a lot and many things .....and i am the last who not wish you good luck

But you have any plan for what you do and how you do and manage??

Never citizens can hear or read about that. Just some of the many silly crackdowns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!dyboys

good for nothing as the problem in this country is eveidence: no consequence of wrongdoing. And this not mean a fine of 100  bath for  ladyboys .....fines have to start with a minimum of 5.000 bath and up and with harsh consequences: not pay...confiscate cars motorbikes or whatever.....you will see shortly things chance! .

In Europe we had the same problem with small fines nodody care. But now the fines are very high and so habit changes.

Perhaps he could implement some strategy regarding "civic improvements"... the destruction of Jomtien beach (ok, severe downgrading) due to butchering old growth shade trees, poorly engineered walk ways that collapsed even before construction finished, the total lack of run off piping so that we now have "mini grand canyons" etc etc..... just hand over brown envelopes and call that good enough. First rule: do no harm.

The new Pattaya mayor is a very brave man, going to rid Pattaya of all the criminal elements.

Going to get rid of all the corrupt police, and local officials, good on you sir.

He's going to nee a very large stiff broom if he thinks he's going to oust or bring to heal all the "mafia" and "influential people"

best book a nice spot in the temple now !!

Or except the usual brown envelope & let things carry on as normal!!

Stop calling it a Resort.Pattaya is a city besides the ocean.

It's a resort for many of the tourists who only visit for a few weeks. Possibly even a sex tourist resort ?.

Its a coastal city...

Its a coastal city...

...that is also a popular tourist resort.

Ah-huh.  :coffee1:

I'm sure that no Thai puyai has ever though about asking the tourists want they want in order to make the city 'a better place.'  99.9% chance that Khun Mayor will get it wrong.

To truly make Pattaya a better place, it needs a different approach:

- Every visitor gets a "Visitors Pass". = The first 500 beers are free. The first 10 ladies are free.

That would make for a "better place".

Cheers.

Well there have been lots of great plans, ideas and suggestions  in this thread to improve The Coastal Town Pattaya so lets give the guy 60 days to seen what he will do.Re-landscape pattaya beach road and make it a walking zone only no parking of vehicles bikes  allowed maybe max one lane for songteaws and cars no busses.make it green..trees benches nice lounge bars less industrial as it is now

He didn't DO much when he was deputy mayor.

He's got his work cut out to repair all the mistakes he made then.

Oh NO not more beach road work. It has never stopped in the 30+ years I've lived here. That road alone must have sucked the city's coffers dry many times. Give other roads a chance like South Pattaya and 2nd roads both in desperate need of concrete rather than tarmac.

Wishful thinking. The whole of Thai society needs to go back to year zero.

Can be done, nuke the place!  :cheesy:

Meet the new boss....

April 1st?

My suggestions for the new mayor's to-do list, in no particular order:

Clean up the condo industry which is a national disgrace here.

Clamp down hard on short-term condo rentals so as to improve accommodation standards.

Stop rental motorbikes from filling up all available parking spaces.

Introduce proper control of pollution, including noise pollution.

Introduce serious penalties for crimes like jet-ski insurance scams, assaults/muggings, street theft, Bahtbus/taxi overcharging. Current penalties are a complete joke and rarely applied even if the perpetrator is caught.

He could start with the sidewalks.  Begin with the most important streets and go from there.  Good sidewalks are important for any city but especially for those that are tourist-oriented.  So ridiculous to see all the tourists, some with baby strollers, walking in the street of super busy Pattaya Second Road because some stretches have no sidewalks at all.  Get going on it.

Absolutely correct.

Why can't/don't they see that????

Maybe they should go for a holiday somewhere that has real pavements??

New Pattaya mayor vows to make the resort a "better place"

So did Michael Jackson............

as the brown envelopes keep rollin on in.

Seems not allows me to upload image of wide pavements
