I think it's Star Apple or Chrysophyllum cainito.
Common in Vietnam but hardly to be seen in Thailand.

I have a purple starapple tree, look nam nom...it hasn't fruited yet but you need an airlayer or have to wait loads of years for fruit.

 

It can also be the governor's plum, they also look that that. I Also grow those.

 

Starapple is hard to find , there's also a green variety.

 

 

Yep, popular and very common in Cambo. From seed it'll be about 9 years before first fruiting. There is a green variety as mentioned above, but they both taste the same to me.

On the fruitfarm in Penang they have a huge tree , you can also taste them there.

 

I don't understand why i have never seen the fruit in Thailand. My friend says they grow in chiang mai.

On Sanam Luang 2 market (thonburi market) in BKK i saw this tree for sale today...i also have one from there.

 

You go to the fruittree department, ask for Taa (grandpa) who has a small shop there....he sells them and has a picture of the fruit on the tree.
