Is there a Nazi contingent in Thailand?

If you see more and more as time progresses and then demonstrations, it's time to be concerned.

Many young foreign people buy shirts with symbols that have no meaning to them personally, and writing they can't translate.

When I went to apply for my driver's license we were all lined up outside and a Thai fellow in front of me was about to enter a government building with a T shirt that clearly said in large bold letters spelled out, 'f _ _ _k Y _ _!

I asked him in if he spoke and read English and before he could answer a security guard grabbed him by the arm and dragged him into the building.  I never saw him the rest of the day while I was there.

 It was actually pretty funny.

There are literally thousands of these Swastica signs (The tails of the sign run different to the Swastika) on graves in Vietnam....When I asked, I was told it was to do with their religion and nothing to do with Nazism....Get off the beaten track in Vietnam and it will surprise you, what you will find...

I've seen a few young Thais wear swastika t-shirts, I don't honestly believe they understand the symbolism, they just think of it as a cool design.

The world just feels a little nastier currently ... and idiots like the ones described by the OP feel more emboldened.

When Nat Pks were cheaper and i would be wandering around, you would see that symbol on a lot of 1000 year old stone work.So really Thai reflecting their culture, borrowed from India.Nothing to do with that nasty little man.

Thais and the Nazi swastika, is something worn as  fashion thing. very much like the Che Guevara t shirts they wear. They haven't been taught about ww2 as we were.So i just think, that even if they knew, they wouldn't care. Its like the hand bags that the girls carry, with the union jack plastered all over it, to them its just a pretty design.

But i do tend to keep my tongue between my teeth when i see a gang of young Thais adorned with the swastika tee shirts. To avoid any conflict, i try not to be nazi to them.

A few fanatics who led the sheep. A lot of Germans wanted nothing to do with it, but out of fear, they kept their mouths shut and went along with it.

Yes, it seems to be on the rise in Europe... maybe time for another war?

Exactly, let it go on until it was too late to stop.Bit like what's happening right now in a few countries that are not in Europe.

I am just asking the question.  Maybe too controversial to remain a thread?

Anyway, over the past 5 days I have seen 5 incidents that make me wonder.

A few days ago, 2 white dudes were walking down Sukhumvit Nana area wearing shirts with swastikas on the back  Maybe just a novelty item shirt?

Then, yesterday I saw 2 dudes in a bar that were definitely Aryan types.  Ex-con looking with exposed Nazi tattoos and other horrific symbols.

Then today, I saw a white dude with a hat with a swastika on the front label.

I cannot remember the last time I saw any of this in the US.  But, this is Thailand so maybe no one has concern or possibly knows what the symbol means?

So, two white blokes were wearing a swastika t- shirts? were they both matching? Then you saw two "Aryan" types....<deleted>????

An Ex Con - How do you know he was an Ex Con? with Nazi Tattoos....

Please can you let us all know what were the other "Horrific Symbols"  - Germans pitchforking Belgian babies alive onto bonfires or similar?

Jesus....hope you aren't an easily offended Jew or Social Justice Warrior!

There was a fuss a few year's back when a restaurant called "Hitler Chicken" or something close to that opened in Bangkok.

There do seem to be some pretty hard core Australian and Euro Biker gangs in the Pattaya area but they seem to concern themselves more with commercial enterprises than white power.

That's a big jump to conclusions.Biker gangs are nazis now.Because of the rise in some gangs in Oz other gangs would take any race in and found out they had talents and conections that were well needed.Multi cultural biker gangs in Oz.

Exactly, but a lot of idiots from Europe and the US, think that a Che Guevara t-shirt is  so "Cool" They are so completely clueless that Guevara was nothing more that a murdering dog that killed and tortured innocent Cubans at the behest of Fidel Castro, another Soviet, Communist murdering piece of filth.

Those creatures murdered 2 or 3 times if not more than Hitler was ever accused of killing, even in their wildest fantasies. Go read, stop believing crap you read in Jewish owned media. Dig a little bit and try and learn something instead of swallowing the lies you have had spewed to you for 70 years.

Go and look up the name Gingrich Yagoda....a Jew Communist that makes Hitler look like a friendly kitten, but you won't see or hear of that guy in Schindlers List or any other Hollywood <deleted> movie...by God never!

Bali too.  The  symbol  was  derived  from  Asia  I think.

The reverse Swastika was from Bhuddhism, via India. The original German style Swastika is a Norse symbol, it has nothing to do with Asia, it represents the circle of life.

Yes.. You are  right. Curiously the  symbolic  meaning  is  not so  far  apart  originally.

Formaleins.

I hear what you say.Over time every thing can be altered to suit the modern trend.History is written by the victors.I agree, with what you say about Che Guevara, but over time, the truth is altered and the lie becomes the recognised edition. And Hollywood has a lot to be responsible for.I come from the East End of London, where years ago the area was ruled by a gang of thugs, led by the Kray Twins. They were vicious, murderous animals that reveled in the fame and notoriety that was afforded them. They actually believed they were above the law. Some kids today accept these monsters as latter day Robin Hoods, and good old boys. This, unfortunately is twisted history.

The Bible, however is a different kettle. If you can accept that what happened 2.000 years ago, then that is proof of religion being blind faith. And using that rationale, proves that religion is now the biggest money making business in the world.

Interesting comment.

Ex con looking.

As for the Swastika.

Many of the younger generation don't think of the symbol in a way older generations do.

It doesn't bother me either way,as it is past history.

All history is the past.

The atrocities carried out by those who used the swastika as a symbol should never be forgotten.

Up here in Chiang Rai there was a very aryan blonde chap (looked a bit like something out of an "Asterix the Gaul" comic) who used to ride around with one of those German style helmets on - with all the decals for the  Waffen SS stuck on it. I pulled up alongside at some traffic lights a while back and took a photo of him with my phone - he got really quite upset and shouted at me in German.

I haven't seen him for a while - I do hope he hasn't fallen off his bike - it would be such a pity...

Edit - here he is, I knew I had a piccy somewhere...

Will someone be kind enough to tell the Thais that Hilter roasted a few millions jews in the oven?

Being good Buddhists they must not glorify Hitler and his symbol. The Thais are so out of touch with this world.

Along  with  an update  on the  Crusaders  who topped  quite  a few non believers or  just because..

I get it that most Thais buying such stuff aren't exactly clued in. More a fashion thing. Same goes for Chairman Mao, Che Guevara or even Serpico images.

But then you have the university students pulling these stunts every few years. Usually scoring some headlines and a media outrage, until the next time. When it comes to these, I see it more as an inane way of trying to express non-conformism, to agitate a bit. Even if they aren't totally clued in, they aren't totally clueless as well.

Foreigners wearing Nazi stuff in Thailand...guess it depends. Some might be into it, some may think its just a laugh.

I would like to inform you, that it wasnt a case of just roasting a few Jews, in the gas chambers. It was an agonizing death, where mothers went with their children and had to watch them die.Your flippancy insults me. My mother was a Jewish woman, whose family made it to freedom, when many of her family died.It will never be forgotten, but it seems that it is ok to make fun of it, or treat it so lightly as you do.

I wasn't talking about that swastika (of which there are many designs), I was specifically referring to the design used by the National Socialists of Germany ... red, white and black ... the third reich emblem. I've seen a number of young Thais wearing this specific design.

If you see Thais with Nazi fashion, it's probably fashion.

If you see white people with Nazi stuff, they are identifying with Nazism.

The Swastika, the symbol of Nazi Germany, actually means a lucky charm or a symbol of well-being for most of us, when literally translated from its Sanskrit root, comprising su meaning 'good' and asti meaning 'to be'. In other words, well-being. One of the oldest symbols made by humans, it dates back some 6,000 years to rock and cave paintings. Scholars generally agree it originated in India.

Not gonna take that bait dude.

You know what specifically Nazi stuff looks like and can tell it apart from stuff that isn't just like anyone else here.

Ba-bye.

Not this one again. It`s as Jingthing said; Farlangs that have some kind of swastika symbols on their person, especially tattoos are likely to be neo Nazis..

Seems the OP sees a least 1 Nazi a day. Looks like there are more Nazis where he lives then those that escaped to Argentina after the war.

No, the Argentina thing was just a ploy; the Nazis all came to Thailand and took youth medication and run all the bars now.

Dude, anyone that has lived in Thailand more than five minutes understands the difference between Buddhist swastikas and Nazi swastikas. Duh!

Dude, I am replying to the OP... who does not understand the difference... and I have lived in Thailand 12 years full time....Duh!
