For a marriage visa I need confirmation of having 400 000 B in thai bank. I have them in Kasikorn Bank for longer than 2 months. How do I get this confirmation? I didn't updated my book 2 months ago or anything like that.

Should I just go to that bank and they will write me some letter, that I have these funds there for more than 2 months? Also - how recent this confirmation can be? It has to be issued at same day as I'm applying for visa?

To be sure of covering all bases deposit or remove 100 baht on the day and ask for the letter "sumrup dor mor" make sure they also update your bank book
Some branches are better than others getting this done same day...if they say can't do or take too long try another branch.

KSB have some branches with the letter on hard drive.

Just give them book deposit a few hundred baht and ask them to update the book.

When you ask for the letter you might get it straight away or next day, depends on the branch.

The day you go to Imm' do a 100 baht withdrawal and update your book in the machine. Print the withdrawal slip and take it with the book.

See here for an example letter from K-Bank:

The letter is a bit older but I assume nothing significant has changed.

Maybe a new format/template.

The letter does NOT state anything about 2 months or the like.

It's just a confirmation of the (type of) account, account holder, current balance.

What should be learned from the example is the addressee: "head of immigration office" in Thai language.

Some offices are picky about the correct title.

The thread also contains an example letter from Bangkok Bank.

I have the letter but when I arrive at immigration it will be 10 days old,  will that be fine or do I have to take a new one ?

Does it have 3 steps then?

I have to go update my book right now.

2 months from now I have to withdraw 100 Baht and take a slip.

Day before requesting visa I have to ask for a letter?

As you say the money has been there for two months then updating the book in the morning you go to Imm' will show that.

You should first check with your bank that they will do the letter then on the day you get the letter get your book done as well.

Do a small ATM withdrawal and then get the print out from the ATM.

That day or early next day go to Imm'.

As often: it depends on the office. Some want same day.

Mine was always OK from day before.

In the Phuket forum there is a list which says 7 days is OK.

10 days is too old.

To make it clear this is about the bank letter for the account.

Income declaration/statement from the embassy is a different story.

Up to 6 months old is usually accepted.

3 days old was too old for Chaengwhattana in Bangkok.

Jomtien wants bank letter and bank book updated the same day with an actually transaction showing for that day in the book even though that means the letter and bank book will show different amounts...unless of course you deposit and then removed the exact same amount...but they didn't mind the discrepancy as long as the total was over 400,000 and had been there for more than 2 months.

I tried that at Nong Khai.  The book and the letter disagreed by the 100 baht and even though the letter and the passbook both  showed over 1,500,000 baht (disagreeing in total by 100 baht) the letter was rejected and I had to go to the Kasikorn bank in Nong Khai and get a new letter.  I'm sure it's up to the individual officer and which side of the bed they got out on.

Did this today at Kasikorn Pattaya Klang.

The cost of the letter is Baht 100 which the clerk deducted from the account as the transaction to update the book and he then provided the letter within 5 minutes along with a stamped copy of the bank book.

However this wasn't enough for the notorious IO at counter 6 who sent me back to the bank to get a bank statement. The bank clerk was confused as to why a statement was required as all the transactions were in the bank book but he provided one.

It was accepted at counter 6 and the extension of stay issued.

So a letter from the bank, copy of the bankbook and a bank statement was the requirement this morning at Jomtien Immigration.

YMMV

Sounds like Jomtien immigration counter 6 has become an _sshole. Bank statements in Dec. 2016 and prior years have never been required for extension of stay.
