tomacht8
I had thought that there was a new law which obliges the plaintiff to bring his complaint personally on the spot.

If there isn't, there should be. A person, and I mean any person, has fled the country to avoid prosecution by the legal system, that person should not be able to bring a suit against anyone in the country. maoro2013
As Thaksin is a convicted criminal I wouldn't have thought he had the right to bring charges against anyone.

Case already heard and several KT senior staff now in jail on 18 year sentences. - Some 15 more cases, already shown many times that the evidence is overwhelming... Well, someone believes Thaksin when he says he's never ever done anything wrong ever, in his entire life. Thaksin the Innocent. Hmmm. Convicted of a crime he has never denied or appealed but legged it before sentence. His lawyer was convicted of trying to bribe the judges. Previously charged with asset concealment which he said was "an honest mistake". Got off on split decision. One judge who found him not guilty admitted later he thought he was guilty but deserved a chance as he's just been made PM. Over 15 plus serious cases where he is charged but cannot be prosecuted as Thai law requires the accused to be charged in person in court. One is the infamous Krungthai Bank fraud where co-defendants have been found guilty and sentenced to 18 years. Thaksin and other members of his family claim every charge for everything is "politically motivated". Several of them have convictions and some are currently involved in court cases. But, some people swallow the propaganda, even when research is so easy these days, and believe it's all political. The only thing political is using political positions and influence to steal very large sums of money.

He used in when in power to silence critics and now uses it to silence anything that might show the Shins in a bad light. I doubt he does this personally. More likely the lawyers have a standing brief to monitor and act. The laws great for those with money - and that's the same everywhere.
