The wife has just inherited a large amount of land. According to the Dept of Land it needs transferred into her name. This attracts a fee. In this case a large fee. 

 

I would have thought transfer fees were EE's were reduced or waived. 

 

Anyone experienced anything similar.

Ok lets start with this 

* a normal trans. of maybe 2.5 perc

* or transferring from Maybe father or uncle which is a reduced rate

Im just guessing a little but i do know that you get a reduced rate when transferring from uncle to niece
