Prostate surgery

Prostate packed up completly recently, hardy any flow, the lobes had crushed the pipe, should have done something years ago instead of kicking the can down the road, hoping for a miracle cure  there 'aint none

Took 2.8 thousand promo flight to India, one of three hospitals I aimed for, first one had to do.  Entered at 4pm paid 3thousand baht registration fee, allotted private room, superb,ac ultra modern,  and advised 6.30 am slated operation time. Until the early hours was utterly hammered by testing, blood blood blood, xrays,BP more BP even more BP ecgs ,heart echo, ultra soundings, whatever test could be done was done, over about 2am after body shaving. Advised problem with size, but op set aside for six hours,

Given spinal but theatre was packed with surgeons/doctors at least 35 of them ,to witness (to them) the biggest prostate ever presented and operated on,was around 160 grammes.  Over 80% cut away using laser(Holep)

Initially paid for three day packge  all inclusive @ around 35 thousand baht but advised 3 days was going up to 5 days as would be fair amount of bleeding, sent the bill up another 3 thousand baht, but again all inclusive.  God I suffered during irrigation, wanted morphine to kill the pain but refused excepting morphine patches,After two and half days bleeding finished ,the pipe up the pipe withdrawn.

The relief was instant, come out that fast now like a fire hose.  If I had gone to a none holep use hospital  but usingTURP  bill would have been in lower 30s baht,do not think any difference hot blade versus hot light in my case ,was always going for a good bleed

Superb treatment, those Indian docs are razor sharp..........vitamin deficiency picked up..Gilberts too... likewise thyroid was down a bit.

All in all a superb result,so easy ,I was dumb not to get this earlier,  Big HHernia seen am returnig at estimated cost of 10 thousand repair soon enough

So do a number of hospitals in Bangkok. And I would be surprised if not also  available at CMU Hospital.

Always take a "not available in Thailand" response with a grain of salt, whether it is from a salesperson in a store or a doctor. It often just means the speaker does not know where it is available (or in some cases, even what it is).

Also best not to ask a GP details about anything specialized.  In CM, best urologist is Prof. Bannakij Lojanapiwat. Can be seen at Sripat , Ram and also has his own clinic.

This is what I posted earlier,if you want specifics PM me with email and Ill provide details. In short was not putting up with pricing regime or trawling the country for just 2 recommended doctors specialising in this type of surgery. India is bursting with this talent, anyway try it,you most def will not be disappointed

Look at The Ruby Hospital, Cacutta, its on the web, call them get a feel to the place,Turp hospital tho,but others around it using Holep

Yes Holep seems to be the best bet esp for larger prostates (it was originally developed in Tauranga, New Zealand by Peter Gilling and Mark Fraundorfer) and select the surgeons with overseas training and greater number of operations if poss.

Prostate cancer drug based on sea-bed bacteria brings complete remission for half of patients...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/12/19/prostate-cancer-drug-based-sea-bed-bacteria-brings-complete/

I had read about this before and wondered when more information might become available, then I met an acquaintance yesterday who told me that he was shortly off to Spain to have this very operation performed! I didn't think it was available yet, but apparently it is?

Was politely asked how I managed(by surgeon)  ' life must have been very difficult' he stated, quite polite I thought    maybe you stupid b should have been quoted

Left hospital like a spring chicken, day after I felt the legs had been kicked from under me,takes a while to recover

Asked specifically the doctors there at hospital about loss of sex drive after the op, answered there would be no loss, and the sucking or blowing?,assured would still be blowing, now there is confidence, not tried it yet, told to avoid jiggy-jiggy for 3 months

The sheer irony of the place beats me,was packed off from hospital with bags full of drugs/medicines (thyroxine etc)  photos galore, but given only one self catheter, told plenty around as 14 prob needed, could I find any? like hell, now these are made in England  Test tube baby clinic right next door to hotel stayed in

in Calcutta virtually gave them to me,bowled me over  as did the white marble building ,Queen Victoria memorial, fabulous, but my energy level was at zero, but managed a look-see
